shroud is {was}D-cell maglite parts, that collected in the bottom of my toolbox.seemed like a good chunk of aluminium. :-[
-
Looking good
-
Nice job. How's it shoot?/
-
shoots great! It was shooting 5 in a little 1/4 cloverleaf @10M with the 3x9x40 Centerpoint that comes on NP22's.Every time. One night I was showing off for G-kids and nailing aspirin 4 outta 5 at 10M.Decided anything that shot that well deserved a better scope,so I borrowed the Leapers 4x16x40 from my Benji, which is having lockup issues. The ridiculously large scope somehow still fits in case (barely),and sure solves eye relief issue, lol. havent got it back to where it was, yet, but I think it's because I accidently bought 8.2g Miesters rather than the 7.0g's it loves. An $80 AG that only likes expensive pellets.I'm lucky that way. ;)
-
Very Nice, is that the stock wood color or did you strip and re do it? Any details?
thanks
John
-
Great job!!
-
That will grab some attention!
Nice.
-
Very nicely done! RC
-
dude, yours looks awesome! i just got one about three weeks ago and it will only shoot the jsb 8.4s any good. everything else just not worthy. i was getting 1/4 inch groups with mine before the scope broke
edit: oh yeah, and what did you do to the wood?
-
Pretty neat plinker you have there.
-
Thanks for the compliments, guys.I didnt spend a lot of time on the wood, just cut down and trued-up foregrip, sanded off original finish, rubbed in some Old English dark scratch-cover with OO steel wool, and a couple of coats of tung oil.It seemed that the longer I rubbed w/ steel wool, the more it darkened and streaked. This thing turned out way better than I intended, just a lucky gun I think.I think it is getting a gas ram conversion this winter, thanks to scotchmo doing all the homework for me (Thanks!)
-
what did you think of the original open sights? mine are waaaay too high and cant go lower
-
Very nice looking gun!
-
What a great 're-cycle' idea for an old maglite.
Now it's a 'green' gun.
Well done !

I'm one of those old guys still can't tex, tweet or post pics and once I work on them and shoot'em awhile they're hard to part with. The barrels are thread locked on both of them anyway.
I'm in Cheshire, Ct. now for my brother's funeral. Got here last Thursday, he died Saturday and we're burying him this Thursday. I'll be back in Savannah Saturday. He fought lukemia for a year. I was up here for five weeks in Nov./Dec. to be a stem cell donor. He never got well enough for the transplant.
We need to find a stock and get the rest of the parts from archer and build a 57 for you. That's how I got the .22 after I thread locked the .177 barrel. He had stocks then and I bought all the parts, sans, barrel for $105 (it's a hobby). Now, all the parts w/ barrel, no stock are about $130. It's easy. He's only got .22 barrels now. The ad says you need a tool to remove e-clips. I found a trick so you don't have to remove anything.

Many moons ago..:)

Gene, when I get back to Savannah I got to study that archive stuff on the 57's.
I tape a grocery discount card off my key chain across the slot on the receiver the sear fits thru on a 57 to keep the sear from flipping up into the receiver when I rotate the rear trigger @@@. back and up into the receiver. After putting the bolt thru the back of the trigger @@@. into the receiver, remove the tape and card. That way you don't have disconnect the linkage between the front and rear trigger assemblies.
The side lever across the knuckles. Yessssss, I know how that feels. I took the insulation off a couple of old
pairs of cheap pliers, trimmed and slid on the end of the levers on my B3-1 AK's and TS45's.

If you don't want to buy one from the bow guy you can get one here~~~

I have not bought from this site so I don't know how good they are to deal with.
Cheers

I just ordered a B3-3 from wildbillwholesale.com w/ black plastic stock, trigger safety, modern fiber optic sights and the cocking leaver clips into the bottom of the front sight for $48. Total $65 w/ UPS ground. They e-mailed me a confirmation number but I had the same thing happen conf.# and all from a defunct site. Never charged my account , never got the gun. We'll see tomorrow if they get the money and if it's still an active sight. If so they show Qb57's in stock in both calibers w/ case and scope.
-
Nice job. Those little QB57's are shooters.
-
Got an e-mail from wildbillwholesale.com today. Said the B3-3 shipped w/ the ups tracking number. Guess they're legit. Guess I'll see. Later.

I think that scope looks great on there and having good eye relief is most important, of course!:)

I'm still out of town. The wife says the B3-3 from Wild Bills was delivered yesterday (Friday evening / ordered it Wednesday night) and he seems to be the source now for QB57's w/ the case and scope, $92.
Later.
