Title: idea for target holder
Post by: AtTheCross on October 20, 2012, 10:24:29 PM
It's voting season and there are a TON of political signs all over my town.  this one guy's campaign even set them like every 50ft on this country road.

these are metal framed signs with corrugated material where the political message is, I snagged one of these signs and just stuck my targets on it when I went shooting today, worked like a champ!!

after the elections i'm going to snag several of these signs and will have a bunch of target holders!

I've used those as well...generally pick up several after elections. I hang the targets with spring/clothespins.

God Bless America,

To keep my targets from flapping in the breeze I stick them on with blue painter's tape can use it over and over

I've been using those for years. I find it simpler and quicker to just staple my targets to it. Sometimes, (depending on how the sign is lettered and wether or not I even use a paper target), I'll just use the letters on the sign for targets. I have found that some folks spend a little more money on their garage sale sign frames and these types make for a far more sturdy target holder in windy conditions. I have collected several of these "sturdier" ones and just discard the flimsy wire frames of the others. I'm incharge of mowing the highway median that runs through our town, so I get a constant supply of them.

I just discovered this after reading about it a few times.  They work great, can take a lot of rounds, and when you're done you still have a nice metal frame.  Tape some carboard to the frame, or use it to hang spinners, and the fun just keeps going.

I'm sure most if not all you guys know it is against the law to just take those signs until after the election. They do make great target holders. I wait til the voting is over then ask before I grab any.
