Anyone use a hdd on a hpa 2250/40? How effective is it on report reduction and shot count? Would it work with Hipac?
Thanks

I put together a 2250xt for my son. It runs on hpa and gets 120 shots at 12fpe fps is +/-3. It is reged to 1200psi and I don't use a HDD. Valve is stock and mods are minimal. I built the LDC for it and it is very quiet compared to not having one. Neighbors don't even look up from what they are doing unless they hear the pellet hit the target.

I tried an HDD on a stock and modified 2240 an got next to no improvements. Thats my 2 cents for what its worth..

spend your $20 on something better
there is no customer support
no warrant reports say they break easily and you either throw the broke one away no warranty/customer support unless something changed in the last 9 months or spend another $20 and hope it lasts longer
let me say this there has been a few reports saying they last longer than 100 shots most say not

I use one in both of my 2240's with Hipac. Would i spend 40$ to buy a pair of them? No, i made them myself. The breakage occurs when you use a stronger than stock hammer spring and the HDD gets squashed between the cocking pin and the back of the bolt.If you mod the back of the bolt you won't have this issue. I have thousands of shots on both of mine and have never had one break. Do i think they are worth it? Absolutely! Along with some other mods, i am getting some really impressive efficiency numbers.

No offense to anyone that sells them but I had definitely thought about making mine from a hardware store part. I saw a video on Youtube where a guy used poly tube and a spring. That was a bit different than the ones I had seen.

Pretty sure poly tubing won't work well, if at all. Buy yourself a length of 1/4" delrin rod (it's cheap) and you are good to go.
