So I was out casually hunting today with my Mrod .25 and a thought occured to me. "This gun is HEAVY!" So i was thinking of ways to cut down on weight. sooooo.......
Does anyone make an aluminum resevior for the Mrod? Does anyone already make one? If so, where could I acquire one?
What other ways are there to cut down on weight?

STOCK !! and OPTICS !! are the M-rods biggest weight places.
Some time when you are cleaning / servicing it and optic are off, remove it from stock and realize the actual guns mechanics are pretty dang light.
Going to a Custom Stock on mine shaved near 2 pounds off the weight .... That's substantial !!
As for air tube .... IMO going ALUMINUM would be no different than it relates to SCUBA tanks as well .... That being it takes MUCH heavier wall thickness to equal the strength of thinner wall steel .... and just like dive tanks of equal volume and pressure ratings ... STEEL is the lighter tank.
As for the OEM stock, remove a bunch of fore arms wood in depth and length, Remove backside of cheek weld ( Rt or Lf hand shooter ? ) Hollow butt stock out etc ...

If you are a righty, cut the opposite cheek rest off...shape a comb instead. I did that with a Katana stock.

hey-Hey!!!,
Check out a post by Lloyd-SS( in the Airgun Gate ) where he runs an Al tube one size smaller to 10k psi. He just gets to yeild stress( and then makes a reduction in wall thickness and runs to failure ). Now this was done with end structure quite different v. the Crosman means of securing the valve. You could probably drop a pound with an Al tube....but find the stress risers and know the limits.
cheers,
Douglas

You can also slim down the width which will remove some more weight.
