Title: Another head shot.
Post by: BenjiHunter on September 13, 2012, 04:18:12 AM
I had to take a head shot on this one, just to show that yesterdays wasn't a lucky shot. ;D ;)
This rat wasn't as jumpy as the one I shot yesterday.
Still, it's a small challenging target.
Shot taken with my rat hunter, Mac1 1322.

Entrance wound.

Nice work. What are you using for bait again?

Thanks guys.
The bait I use is peanut butter, wild bird seed and an orange cut in half.
And for dessert, lead.
They can't resist it. ;D

Thanks.
This gun is as good as a gun possibly can get, so yeah, I'm glad I didn't do anything to it. ;)
Like I said in another thread, a $1000 gun can't beat its accuracy up to 20 yards.

Rats can be found anywhere. Where there are humans you have rats close by.
Trick is to make them find you.
I have this old ladder I put next to an orange tree. On the ladder I have bowls with food.
First time I spotted a rat was on the phone wires that criss cross the neighborhood.
I saw them run on the wires to and from my house and other houses as well.
But I didn't have anything to lead them down so I could shoot them. (Never shoot a rat on a wire, you need a good back stop!)What did I do? I took this electrical cable and tied it to the wire going to my house and fixed to the
gazebo frame. I smeared some peanut butter on the gazebo frame to lure them down. After I did that it took them just a few day to find my bait ladder. :D
Edit: I forgot, I have a small dim light shining on the bait bowls.
