My wife called me outside with my camera to see this "giant bird" in our backyard.
With me being as hungry as I am right now I was glad I was holding my camera and not my Mrod else a poacher I may have become:

This is actually a double exposure of the same bird.

Cool. The same exact thing happened here last weekend. My wife says look out the window. There were 3 turkeys walking through my yard about 45yds from the house. 3-4 days ago I spotted them in an open field about 1/2mi. from here. The last time I spotted a Turkey around here was in the late '90's. I am glad they are back. If I spotted one at night in my backyard out of season, and I had a Condor near by or the 350 .22, I am not sure what I would do :)

Weirdest thing is, about an hour after I took those shots I'm sitting at the dinner table. I look out the window and see the turkey fly up into a tree about 15 feet from my house. He lands on a skinny branch about 15 feet up and just stands there for about 15 minutes, then takes off to the next tree a bit higher up. I lost sight of him after that. But that seems like odd behavior for a lone bird.

Sound's like he's looking for a place to roost for the evening. Ed
