Title: Crosman 1400 - Buttplate
Post by: Ckistner on August 26, 2012, 11:07:57 PM
Looking for anyone with a Crosman 1400 that may have added a buttplate or recoil pad to add a little length to the stock.  I picked up this one recently and have decided to refinish the stock.  I have seen these with buttplates by my 1st variant did not come with one.  Looking for idea's to add a little length to it.  Any suggestions?

Thanks
Ck

Try that for now. Also look in crosman's parts sections and you may find a better deal on there!!

Hi Petey,

I have seen your rebuild thread.  Awesome job.  Maybe I am referring to it as the wrong name but I'm referring to the black plastic cap on the end of your stock.

Most butt plates from gun suppliers need to be custom shaped using a belt sander as far as I know.

Check out your local gun shops, the ones who have gunsmiths. they may have a box of old ones that you might find to fit without much work .  you will still have to sand it down some to make it fit but if your refinishing the stock , now is the time to install one.

Brownells sell the Pachmayr pads.... I just ordered two of the smallbore ones, they are 1/2" thick and only $15.00 each.... They are a "grind to fit" deal....
