Title: A hypothetical Hatsan question
Post by: Nathan on August 09, 2012, 06:29:00 PM
Let’s just say that you’re in the market for a powerful springer and had decided on a Hatsan. I was looking at Pyramyd Air and they have the Walther Talon Magnum combo for $209 and the 125TH combo for $199. Now they also have the Hatsan 135 for $219. So why wouldn’t you opt for the wood stocked 135 over the synthetic stocked Walther (Hatsan 125)? According to the Hatsan website, the 135 comes with a walnut stock. They both appear to have the Quattro trigger and SAS. So for an extra $10 or $20, you gain a walnut stock and lose the scope and mounts. I wouldn’t lose sleep over that scope not being part of the deal as it’s a non AO version.  It appears that the 135 is available in all 3 calibers as is the other 2 rifles.  I would pay the extra money just for the wood stock, wouldn't you?

yup.i would buy the 135,in 25cal, without the crappy scope and mount and buy those separate, and of better quality, wish i had that choice 1 year ago when i bought the talon 22cal,i love the talon, but it would of been nice with those options of choice you mentioned,oh and don't forget the 125 sniper, too. ;D

Is weight a factor?  The 125TH seems like it would be lighter.

Ironically, PA lists the 135 and the 125TH both @ 9.2 lbs. The Walther Talon Mag is shown @ 8.25 lbs. I thought the synthetic stocks would be lighter than the wood, but that's not always true.

Walnut stock for sure.  I have a Hatsan 95 with a nice walnut stock.  The 135 pics looking even better.  The scope and rings that came with mine are, well to put it nicely, not so nice.
