Title: Picture post test
Post by: bowhunt on August 02, 2012, 09:28:33 PM
Just making an attempt at posting pictures here. If this works correctly...it should be a pic of a late season squirrel hunt from last year. The rifles used were my FX Royale 400 and my friends 25 cal Marauder. Hope the pic shows up.

Thanks Troy. I have to admit that I have fallen in love with the Royale. My friends 25 Mrod is such a tack driver that I picked one of them up a few months ago also. As for the squirrels.....they made it into my squirrel pot pie a few days later.

Thank you very much. The Mrod in that pic belongs to a friend of mine that hunted that day. Both of the guns performed very well and we were both able to take our daily limit.

Brian, though the Royal is out of my budget for some time.  I am hoping for a .25mrod later this fall.
Those are both really sharp.
If you ever have spare time, and feel in a sharing mood.  Id love to give that recipe a try.  You could send me a message or email it to me...Only if you want, no pressure...But boy that is a mighty fine looking pot pie.

Troy...you will love the 25 Mrod. I have set up 4 of them for friends and one for myself and all of them that I have come across are amazingly accurate. I will try to get that recipe to you when I get some time. I could send it alot sooner but I do not have it written down.

Thanks Ed. The Squirrels yielded 2 dishes that size. It is fairly simple to make but takes a while. The end result is well worth the effort. I prepared it at my friends house. His wife said she had tried squirrel before but didn't really like it. She is not shy about trying things and agreed to give it another chance since it was prepared differently from the first time that she tried it...she ended up having two large helpings. LOL! She even asked a few days ago if I would be making it again soon.

Very nice pics!
Looks like you guys put a ding in the population that day.
From the looks of it, they were probably digging around for buried nuts in the snow and you guys fed them lead instead.
Nice shooting!

Thanks Niko. Actually the squirrels were not that interested in food that day. That hunt took place late toward the end of the hunting season which is the breeding season for them. Squirrels were running everywhere...some times as many as 4 or 5 chasing each other in the same tree. The action was fast and furious and we could have easily shot twice our limit! Just one of those days in the squirrel woods that wont soon be forgotten.

Wow, Brian!
Sounds like an epic day of hunting!

Thanks again Niko. From the looks of your list...you have some very fine rifles also. The Royale is one of the most accurate rifles I haver ever owned. I hate springers!.......they have a tendency to make my stock pile of pellets get low. LOL! It is so addictive to be able to just cock the gun, load a pellet, shoot and repeat

...I hate springers!.......they have a tendency to make my stock pile of pellets get low. LOL!...
Now that's funny!
I'm just the opposite, non-recoiling guns tend to freak me out. It took me a while to get used to shooting my match pistols and get over the fact that there's no recoil. OK, you can start laughing now. ;D
It must be all the powder burners I shoot all the time or something....man I need some therapy. ;D
