Title: Which is the more accurate caliber ?
Post by: cosmic on July 24, 2012, 08:41:08 PM
Looking at a Hatsan BT65SB and was wondering which would be more accurate the .22 or the .25?
                                   Thanks,
                                               Ray

I like this guy and I think he does pretty great reviews with one exception.  I don't think he credits a guns accuracy correctly.  I have saw his reviews and seen the guns do much better with other people and even myself with the guns he has reviewed.  I am a pretty good shot but not a expert but for anyone who has shot guns and hunted all there lives I would think they would be just as good.  Now don't get me wrong, I think he does a top notch job in every other aspect of his reviews especially his honesty with some dubious type airguns. I have even based some of my purchases off his reviews.  And since this post was about accuracy I thought I might add my perception of the fellow and if Rick see's this please don't take offense.  I know lots of people visit this forum and since he resides in South Carolina I am sure he is enjoying his air conditioning and letting the suckers sweat it out in 100 degree weather. lol

Heavy pellets in the .22 cal to keep the velocity in the 900-1000 fps range.... or get the .25 cal....

Like any airgun, you are likely to find the rifle more accurate with one or two specific pellet types.... In addition, barrels vary, gun to gun.... I wouldn't want to say for sure which Hatsan BT65 is more accurate, .22 cal or .25 cal, as your experience could be the opposite of someone elses.... If you want to spend the extra $100 or so, order it with a Lothar Walthar barrel in either caliber....

Now i'm leaning more to the .25... But I have a load of various .22 pellets..  Maybe just shoot them in my supercharger pistol...

everything else equal, heavier pellets tend to stay on course better. ;D
