I put a new leather seal and lubed my hw-55 . havent cronied her yet as im shootin a lot to get it broke in.its very smooth cocking with mabe 20 pounds cocking force. cleaned the trigger and its smooth and breaks like snapping glass. its hitting where im looking. mabe this weekend im gonna crony it and was curious as to original feet per second. i know its not a high powef gun but a smooth accurate pleasnt shooting gun . its responsible for me havin a bunch of dianas and a gamo big cat. first spring gun i ever had . got it a few years ago at a gun show . simply a nice backyard gun

I know the original German specs were 575 fps. This was never a powerful gun. With the tuning kits, like JM, these reached the absolute sweet spot for this model at 650 fps., and it is supposedly a super sweet spot at this number. As I understand it is useless to try and get more out of them.
I had one which I traded for a Walther 55, because the spring was too strong and made the gun rough as a corncob, it was not fun to shoot.

airnutz , i just lubed it and cleaned thoughorly , never seen any place that needed deburing . it had to be 1 of hw"s finest quality internal made guns . the leather seal was shot , pieces started coming out 1 day and when i seen them i put it up till a new seal came to me . after she has ahd a tin or 2 down the barrel im gonna see how fast she goes and how close to factory speed it is . thanks for the reply
