I found some incredible deals after searching through all the simmons scopes on closeout... 4x airgun scope for $15.00 after rebate... 4x12x50 prosport AO for $36.00... dozens of others..
search for "closeout simmons" once on their site, i couldn't link straight to the page.. J

jeff, when my wife gets steamed because "I saved so much money"....i'm giving her your number!lol....good deals on there good looking out bart

Just so long as we time it so i get the call and not MY wife... who thinks i'm maybe even making money on my "trades" lol..lol.
My only disappointment with the site is they make it so hard to find the closeout items in their flier via online. I'm ordering stock number #f10sn510490c which is a 4-12-50AO.. $37.47 after rebate. What a deal :)

why is that scope called a clamshell? Is it because of the length?
-
good deal on simmons scopes here
-
BTW these are great Deals! thanx for sharing

They are probably refering to the "clamshell" packaging? Is all i can think of.
NP guys, glad i came across it! J
Edit: Also, all their scopes(quite a few) with an SF beside the model is their version of AO, but it's side focus, the SF scopes are 2-3 oz. lighter than their AO predecessor, and quite a few of them are only $60-80.00...

I agree, great prices at Natchez SS! I'm looking for a Simmons .44 Mag 4-12x44, AO, (#D18SN 441124). NSS has them on sale for $93, but is currently out of stock.
I'm debating if I should wait for them to restock, or go with Optics Palnet; same scope @ $108 and FREE shipping. Does NSS also have free shipping? If so, I'll wait, if not I'll go with Optics Planet. Those of you who have done business with NSS, please comment.
Thanks .......
Joe.

In answer to my own question: Yes, Natchez Shooters Supply, (NSS), does charge shipping.
I did some doodling and found the following prices on the Simmons .44 mag 4-12x44 AO scope:
Natchez SS: $93 + $14 shipping = $107; net after rebate = $69.75 + $14 = $83.75
SWFA: $100 + $10 shipping = $110; net afte rebate = $75.00 + $10 = $85
Optics Planet: $108, FREE shipping = $108; net after rebate = $81.00
Note that the rebate is on the amount that you paid for the scope, not on the amount that you paid for the scope AND shipping! The shipping cost comes out of your pocket. Kinda interesting, after doing the math .... "all that glitters is not gold".
These figures are true for my particular situation, YMMV ;D ;D

Thats a good point Joe, the simmons rebate is available wherever you buy your scope i guess so indeed it may work out better on some current models to shop around. The models that are being closedout however, seem VERY cheap. Thanks for mentioning this. Jeff
