Title: 1970 Blue Streak
Post by: Nikoman on July 04, 2012, 04:58:46 PM
Hello everyone,
My dad just scored a Blue Streak for me the other day.
He kind of owes me one. ;D
To make a long story short, his van was broken into many years ago when they stole all the tools including my beloved Blue Streak. My only question to him was, why did he have my rifle in his van overnight? :o >:(
Anyways, here's some pics of the newest acquisition to the airgun family. Seems to be a shooter because the 1st shot it dropped a starling from 25 yards out. I guess the sights don't need adjusting any time soon ;D

Glad to hear you got the gun of your childhood back after all of these years.  It sure looks like a nice one, and the stock has some good character to the grain.  Seems like its shooting strong and accurately too.  That starling knows first hand.  ;D  Those Blue Streaks are great guns and are one everybody should have in the collection in the pumper category.  Yours sure looks a LOT better than the one I have.

Thanks guys.
I'll never forget the 75 yrd Quail I took with my old Blue Streak back when I was a teenager. You usually hunt quail with shotguns but this time I took the Sheridan with me in the mountains where my father was helping build a house and that's where I saw the covey. I picked my shot and took it, my father and his co-workers witnessed it and couldn't believe the distance so they got their huge measuring tape out and marked the kill at 225ft.
That quail went straight to the taxidermist and it still sits in my kitchen under the nook cabinetry today.
It is the only mount I have that was taken with an air rifle but it is definitely the most proud.

Edit:  Forgot to mention, it was taken with a Beeman Silver Jet pellet. By far till this day I can tell you that those were the absolute most accurate pellets in that rifle back then for distance shooting. It's really a shame that those pellets are no longer available. :(

great lookin blue streak with very nice wood . and great story about the quail . i like those way back storys as we lived them and did them . proof the guns were better back then . there are some new guns that are fine but you have to pay an arm n leg for them . big buisness and no quality control i guess . beside being outsourced to china when we need the jobs here at home
