Title: Sheridan Model A
Post by: VPilot on June 27, 2012, 02:54:46 AM
Well, I finally got my own piece of airgun history.  Ever since I first read of one, I've been wanting but held little hope of finding one for myself.  One thing I learned over the years on this particular gun, you have to be Johnny on the spot when someone finally decides to turn loose of a Supergrade.  Delay for one minute and the opportunity vaporizes.  Anyway, a couple weeks ago I placed a WTB ad for one and lo and behold I was led to this one, a fully functioning Model A Supergrade.  I can honestly say, I've never felt better about spending this kind of money on an air rifle and have no doubt that if the need ever arose to sell it (heaven forbid), I wouldn't lose anything.  Now I finally know what all the fuss is about this gun.  Everything about it feels quality.  It shoulders beautifully and shoots like a Cadillac of airguns should.

Ironically I have actually come full circle in my airgun journey.  I started out with MSP's decades ago, tried everything else since, and now have returned to my roots with a vengence.  Including this Supergrade, I now own 13 Sheridans/Benjamins, a Crosman Model 1, Town & Country 108, Kessler, and a few less notable MSP's.  I love these things.

Your persistence paid off. What a beautiful rifle. I love vintage pumpers as well and the supergrades are definitely the Cadillac of them all. Congrats on your find.

That is a lovely rifle I love pump up guns. I fell into them by accident I won 3 as part of an auction lot now I cannot get enough of them. Only Crosman at the moment but one day I will get a Sheriden. Thanks for sharing .
