Title: Repair Training
Post by: jtbdad on June 04, 2012, 11:37:38 PM
My new Airgunner Friends;

I am a bit of a tinkerer.  I can read schematics and I like to disassemble and reassemble most stuff.   Is there a training program for people who repair and refine airguns?  I'm not really interested in doing this for a living just as a hobby.

Moderators if this isn't in the right place please feel free to move it.

John

Wow!!!! There's a market for the info on the GTA!!!!.....Who Knew????  Just send me $5,000.00 and I'll grant you access to the "GTA-on-Line School of AG Tuning" and send you your own Official GTA B-3 training rifle for the "hands-on" portion of the course.  When you've studied all the info in the library and read all the posts and completed all the mods; I'll send you a diploma and an official GTA Hat!  ;) ;) ;)

jtbdad....Hello, and I think it's interesting that you ask in this manner.

I am fairly new to air guns and the restoration of the old German guns.  But I like to tinker too.

My most intensive "tinker time" was when I was much younger, and I fell in love with Mopars.

My first was a 1964 Plymouth, and I tinkered with the thing so long that it rocked the ground when I started the thing.  This took though a lot of time and intensive training, and a few coins as well.  I am very happy for the memories.

If you think you like the feel of the thing, then look into it....the Internet is a wonderful invention.  I feel if you like the way metal and wood and performance gets together and you like the way the whole package feels, and you like to submit, admit and ask....then you just may have found a wonderful pastime.

The real deal is, look around and read a bit, get an air gun that you like....maybe an oldie....and fix it up.  Doing is better than looking.

You know what, better is even typing this from Germany, and someone in another part of the world replies.

Greetings, and have fun.
