sidman, is the gun a repeater?
If you would like, I can ask around on a good German LG Forum.
Very interesting old gun.
Greetings from Germany.
-
hey that would be great, I dont think its a repeater it has a 12rd clip but you have to break and pump each shot but it loads the round its self each time I"m not sure what mm it is I have talk to several collectors no one has seen or heard of this gun so any help would be great, thanks Don
-
Nice looking older gun for sure and airnutz beat me to the question. Where did you pick it up at again? How does it shoot? What caliber is it....?
-
It came from Germany my wife grandfarther brought it back with him in the 50s its been in closet little over 60 yrs not sure how old it was when he got it and I have pump and fired it but no ammo dont know what mm it is thinking around 4.4 maybe not sure,
-
OK sidman, will do.
Might take a while for an answer, I'll message you with the link when posted.
I'll use the pics you posted, ok?
-
Hi Robert and thanks very much for your time maybe the mystery be solved soon I hope, Don
-
sidman, do you know where Granddad was from (Region of Germany)? The gun is awaking interest over here.
-
No Robert I sure dont all of my wife relatives have passed anyone on her side that would maybe have known, wish I had more for you, Don
-
"I have pump and fired it but no ammo"
Dry firing a spring piston airgun is a death sentence. Don't do that!!!! >:(
-
BINGO!
Looks like the Magazine has been tuned to fit, it's a Haenel 33 Magazine from before 1945!
The Company WAGRIA used the name Hohenzollern.
More to come!
-
sidman, is the barrel drilled or not?
Either way, the gun was powerful back in the day, equal to present day medium models.
More coming.
-
Not sure what you mean about the barrel, if you mean solid and drilled out yes it is, GREAT Robert , Don
-
I mean is it twirled when you look down it. Lol, terminology?
Here is a pic of the 12 shot Magazin from a Haenel 33, which one expert says it was not tuned to fit your gun, meaning it fit "as is".

Here is a pic of mag, and looks to be smooth bore but after good cleaning know for sure,
-
Ja ja, 4.4mm Rundkugel (round balls) ;D Yes, yes caliber 4.4mm BB's.
Looks for sure know like a Wagria Model, which was produced under different names. We're working on the year now.
-
Great Work Robert, went to web site couldn"t read LOL, but that it just sights different but is 4.4mm that is good to know, is it worth restoring? Don
-
Your gun looks to be in very nice condition. I have already asked an expert here about seals, he says he doesn't know....the gun still shoots! So why should he take it apart?
Gotta love it, the gun is more than 60 years old, and still going strong. The gun on the auction went for $200, and was also still shooting. Those studs looked funky though, yours would get a real nice sum for sure. Get the seal done, and see what happens. A nice old vintage gun, and obviously valuable.
-
sidman, Granddad brought over a relative new air rifle. They were built 50's to mid 60's. He doesn't know which seals may fit, but these can be made to fit, if needed. Ask around here for more info on what to do next, okay?
I am not an expert, just inquisitive. I'd say though, put some ammo in there and see what happens.
-
Thanks again Robert, YOU ARE THE MAN! I can buy ammo here at sporting goods, let me know if you come up with round about year, looks like I"ll restoring maybe, would it hurt to get the stock refinished and metal re-blued I have everything to do it, let me know what you think, Don
-
I think when the old guns look as good as yours, then let them be as far as the visual aspect goes. Fix was doesn't work, get rid of the rust, lube it and run it as is.
Your gun really does look nice, the guys here in Germany think so too, so I would advise be prudent and let the old gun be an old gun, just one that works well. The old patina cannot be made, it is earned.
Don, it was fun. I love inter-action on Forums, I wish there was more, and I'll inform of any new developments.
Greetings,
Robert
-
Again thanks Robert it has been great day, thank all of your friends over there also for all the help, have a great day, Don
-
No, but I was in a castle with that name while I was stationed in Germany.
-
Hello Skip,
An interesting place that's full of German history. If Germany had a King (Kaiser) again, he would come from here. The Crown Prince lives there now.
Greetings from Germany.
-
Never heard of them, but I've been to the castle in Germany.
-
