Would you guys get the HW80k in .25 or something like a Benjamin Marauder or Hatsan PCP? I just love a spring gun that performs and the Vortek drop in tune makes a springer so very nice!
I am debating and may pick something up soon! Need feedback.

I have heard the Vortek kits pack a serious punch in the R1/HW80 rifles, so .25 caliber might be worth trying. I'm not too big on .25 springers in general do to the lower speeds, but that's just me. I would be more inclined to look into an RX/HW90 series rifle for a quarter bore shooter.

That thing wont shoot but about 650 to 680 max with a 20gr FTT so if you only planning to use it for 30yds or less it'd be ok JMO :P

Yeah, I guess as much as I like my Weihrauch HW97k, anything larger than a .22 needs some serious air pushing it. My last .25 caliber was a Career Infinity PCP from ShinSung, that thing was throwing Beeman Kodiaks 30 grain pellets down range at the muzzle at around 900 fps on mid to high power! That was some serious energy and destruction! I may just bite the bullet and get a Marauder because nothing but good things to say overall and that thing is wicked quiet!

The vortek kit will tame any springer
But pcp is awesome.

hey-Hey!!!,
I bet a 25 cal R1/HW80 with a Vortek Kit could do 23 ft.-lb. With a 20 gr FTT that is ~720 ft/second. I have an RX2 in 20 cal that is shooting nearly 22 FPE without any mods at all. When it was new and dieseling off its lube it ran 24 FPE all day with very tight velocity distribution. When I am ready to hurl 25's around I will find a PCP of some sort; I like the flatter shooting 20 cal.
cheers,
Douglas
