Title: M'lady is an Air Rifle enabler.
Post by: timegoat on September 27, 2010, 11:19:08 PM
So, I was talking to my wife about getting a couple JM tune kits for my 34s and a couple piston seals. I want some guides for Mori and spare parts to have on hand for both. Went over to ARH and saw both the kits and seals were reduced in price. Her words, "Why don't you get them?"

She didn't need to twist my arm very hard. I picked me a good one! ;D

They're on their way. :)

Well I have a keeper to guys. as most of you know I had a stroke around july and she has stuck with me tight  she even took me to the shoot  at Genes in SC and has looked after me quiet well, she keeps me supplyed with pellets  and whatever we can afford for my ag habit.I had to go to another country to get her though, maybe she is not americanized yet she is from New Zealand.  I would make the trip again any day. So Mark you aren't the only one with a keeper I quess that makes 2 of us LOL!!! Thanks David

Congratulations!

I have a keeper, too.  My wife enjoys shooting and engaging in "small caliber ballistics testing" with me on our porch.  A couple days ago she really surprised me by stating that she'd like to go squirrel hunting this fall...  I couldn't believe it!

David and Steve, guess that makes three of us now. :)

Toolmaker, sorry to hear that. :(

Mine doesn't do much shooting, but I think the bug is working it's way in. Many years ago I took her plinking with a .22lr, she only took 10 shots, missed the first 2 or 3, but hit every one after. That was her first time shooting a gun of any kind. She did pretty well taking the NH Hunter Safety course too. We went though the course together last year and they make ya take some shots with a .22 as part of it.

I've been trying to encourage her to pick up an air rifle and come out with me and last night she mentioned she's been thinking about it. I'll get her out there one of these days. She's got a survivalist streak in her much the way I do... just needs some encouragement. ;D

Back when I was heavy into 10M air pistol, my wife started shooting along side.  I eventually bought her a Daisy 747 that we still have.  Before that I was big into 3D archery and she shot with me then also.  She doesn't much like shooting rifles.  They are kind of big for her 5 ft frame.  Maybe I'll surprise her with a youth springer like the XS-B16 from Best Airguns.  Hmm.  That sounds like a plan.

Holy cow! does she have a sister? lol My wife wont look at mine unles their in the way and they are always in the way to her. I tell her about the things I do and she calls me retarded cause I play with bb guns. Laughs about this web site. When I tell her something like I converted a chinese gun to gas piston she said thats neat what did all your little friends think. My little friends! Only time she got excited about my airguns is when I told her I was selling one. OOOOOOO purse money. I told her to go farm on her face book &^^&. lol

You guys are lucky as H3*#!

Let us know how the tunes turn out. Good luck!

Onebaddj, yes, she does have a sister. But, trust me... you're better off now. That family tree dropped 2 very different apples. :)

LADave, she's all mine now! Been together for 10 years, married for 7 months. We figured after that long we'd probably make it. ;D

I've got a keeper as well, she just told me I couldn't sell or trade my blue streak because she likes it the most and wants to start shooting more.  Also told me to go buy a scope for my phantom (any inexpensive suggestions?)  Also wants me to build a nicer backyard pellet trap than the current one.  I got lucky with mine also.

Got a post tune update for ya. The spring came with the guides already in place and all I did was give the new spring a light coating of tar and drop it straight in the Pro-Compact. Didn't bother with the piston seal since I bought that as a spare part.

Pulled out a few CPHPs which have never been very reliable in Mori, took a couple settling in shots and then took 5 shots at 30yds at the target below. Shot to the right was the 5th. Dunno if it was a flier or if I jerked the trigger out of excitement since I could tell the first 4 shots were sweet. I do get excited when I'm shooting well. Got too dark, but as soon as I can I'm gonna try it out with some H&N FTTs. This rifle has always preferred heavier Baracudas, but if she's shooting the less reliable CPHPs this well, I might never put a heavy in her again.

Can't wait to show the wife! ;D
