Sometimes folks give their favorite guns names. This is my late '40's Crosman 102. It's a .22 caliber multi-pump bolt action air rifle that is also a repeater. It has a 20 round tube magazine on the left side of the barrel. A little shuttle runs side to side Giradoni style when you work the bolt to transfer the pellets to the barrel.
Back to the naming of guns thing. I call this rifle "Festus" after the guy on Gunsmoke. Like him, this rifle is old and kinda funky looking, but it gets the job done!

Why, thank you. That rifle 'aint bad either!

Great looking rifle! I just picked up a 101 that needs lots of TLC. Any idea where to get parts besides the usual folks?
-
Hey airgunandy... As usual, you got some cool stuff.. That gun is clean... I didn't know those things came in repeaters.. or is it one of your custom jobs?

Nope, not a custom. The 102 came from the factory as a repeater. I did swap out the original mangled rear peep sight for one from a Sheridan.

Andy....you make me cry...... :'(
I miss my 102....won't have it back from MR. Gunter till July.
But, boy will it sizzle when he's done with it.. ;D
Beautiful 102 you got there..wish mine looked as good.

Did your refinish that rifle? And if you did, what did you use and tell how.
-
Very sweet old classic and in real great shape you just cant beat the old guns all wood and metal. BTW Gunsmoke was one of my favorite shows back in the 60s and we all loved Festus. Do you know he played a few different people on the show before he became Festus.

All I did was clean it up. The paint has a few chips but it was pretty good shape when I bought it a few years ago. Haven't even opened it up to look inside. Works too nice to risk messing something up! :)
Does 655 fps on 10 pumps with 14.3 Crosman pellets.
