Hello
I have read what is available on the conversions from springer to gas for Hatsan rifles, and thought this information would be of interest to share, as I received it yesterday. According to a sales person at PA, after an inquiry for said rifle about tuning prior to shipping out.
"We can take the gun apart, clean it, polish the piston and regrease it for $40. Very soon, we will also start offering nitro pistons for that model as well."
Thanks,
Bah

Unfortunately, they left out the very important processes of completely de-burring the action, honing and cross-hatching the Receiver Tube, and replacing the Piston Seal !
Plus, they use the same pistons as the Crosmans ( "Nitro Pistons" ) from China. So, the best you can hope for is TRAIL NP XL performance levels !

"So, the best you can hope for is TRAIL NP XL performance levels !" And we know we can do better than that and be safe to boot !!!

A Benjamin at the best. ;)

There is a lot to assume, agreed. The fact that many...myself in particular, are not tinkers and appreciate efforts made by trailblazers...err, the slow progressions of innovation/reinvention/buisness-as-usual, are not much interested in details but results.
The Hatsan Torpedo 100X, will be my first springer (should get it Friday.) If it is maintained properly, and tuned to the best of it's mechanical limits I should be satisfied until I figure out there is more to be had, which I already have but will ignore until a greater need, or larger savings presents itself. ;D
I was and still am, interested in nitro piston propulsion for all the logical reasons. The thing is, can I do without it?

No one wants a chinese gas ram in a nice hatsan :)

Lambchops,
agreed. no one who knows the differences between chinese or industrial gas springs cares, beyond getting rid of the drawbacks springers present. so long as they are safe. business as usual, Hatsan and others will follow the potential profit...leading to more advanced pellet rifles. well, as advanced as the projectile.
liability mixed with quality, is always a dicey affair.
