Title: Stock on Crosman Outdoorsman Carbine

I love the stock. Simply love it.  ;)

I would like to have one like it on my 1377... 8)

I would like to try some wood carving with my grandfather who is highly experienced with wood working.

My questions are,
What wood should I use for by stock?
Do I make it like a normal rifle stock and then make a slot just wide enough for it to slip over the handle on the 1377 and be screwed on like the stock plastic grips?
