Title: remington vantage spring broke

ok i have  a remington vantage 1200 air rifle. the mainspring broke of about a 1/4 inch the spring is more expensive than a gas spring  I have looked at the crosman blueprints and since the remington and the crosman parts are labled differently but look the same im not sure if this will be a drop in replacement.  also crosman does not give part measurements just part #'.s I am pretty sure that the parts i want to use will work, i want to order the crosman gas spring  (BT9M22-00-5  1000fps titan gp). The piston looks the same between the titan gp and the remington vantage but the model numbers are labled differently the seals are the same .  Anyone done this mod before?  is the compression tube the same between the titan gp and the remington vantage?
