Title: My glossy red gun
Post by: lizzie on April 12, 2012, 06:33:13 PM
 ;D

This is the model 34 N that had the black wood stock, and the bent barrel. I've been working on giving her a face lift. :)
I think I'll do the barrel and action with DuraCoat- just haven't decided yet on a color. I also want to do some type of painted design or vinyl decals on the buttstock. The nickel surfaces are a little surface rusted, so I've been using my dremel with a fine buffing bit to clean that up a bit.

THanks Ron- yeah, I'm having a blast with this. When I took the gun apart and few days ago, I did a little more straightening on the barrel. The barrel itself was good, but I noticed there was still a slight upward angle compared to the top of breech block (they weren't in parallel planes). I'm getting to be quite the pro at barrel-straightening, lol. :D

Haha Supertech. ;D  the secret to them seems to be bread; i tried dried cat food, nope, bird seed, and sun flower seeds, nope, pop corn, nope;so as a last resort, went to the  wal-mart bought 4 loaf,s of white bread.and for each day now for 4 days,i would put out 1/2 a loaf in the yard, and last night i put out 8 sheets of bread, open the door 8inches in my florida/computer room, and just waited, with the 850 locked and loaded, and went threw 3 8 shot magazines, and now the count today only is 17 just got another 20 minutes ago, that 850 with the tko is so quite, that when i shoot one the others most the time won't fly off,so i just follow liz's order's and whack um.i'll lay out some more bread tonight and let them devour it tomorrow and since i'm off this weekend set up for some more sat/sun.

Dang- 16 starlings in one day? I haven't seen 16 starlings in one month, and haven't seen any at all for weeks now.

Thanks Supertech. I usually just wait for them to come looking at my martin houses, lol. :D Seriously, I think I have my location starling population whittled down to just about zilch. :)

Yeah- used Krylon, then top-coated with Krylon clear finish acrylic. Hoping it will hold up well to use.
