Ok
I ordered the seal kit and filter from sun optics. So I figured I would freshen up the pump with new seals and silicon grease. I tried to use it and after about ten pumps or so the hand pump wants to pull itself back down on its own. I cannot get pressure above 1200psi into my discovery. I am lost as to what is wrong. Anyone seen this?
Thanks
Bryan

you might have damaged a oring when putting it back together or the check valve is bad
try pumping while its not connected to the discovery, if the pump works then the fill adapter in the airtube might have gone bad
-
Ok just told it off my rifle and gave it a few pumps. Seems to act normal when it is off the gun itself. You mentioned the fill adapter. How would that be bad ?
Thanks
-
i believe they have a check valve in the fitting and it could be that the seal on that went bad or its clogged or something like that.
DEGAS THE RIFLE DOWN TO ZERO PSI, THEN STICK A SCREW DRIVER OR HEX WRENCH IN THE BACK OF THE AIRTUBE WHERE HOLE IN THE CAP WHERE THE HAMMER SPRING IS AND PUSH THE HAMMER FORWARD AND THEN PUSH A LITTLE HARDER TO OPEN THE VALVE. ANY AIR LEFT IN THE TUBE WILL EXIT VIA THE BARREL.
then remove the fill adapter and check for clogs
-
Ok great thanks
-
you can shoot it down but dont use pellets eventually one will get stuck in the barrel but please still push the hammer and open the valve before starting to remove the fill adapter
-
It was a bad seal. Thanks for the help.

Glad you got it sorted out. For future reference which seal was it?
-
#30??? That's the usual culprit.

It was a bad seal. Thanks for the help.

Bryan, I must be slow on the uptake. Which seal did you replace? Was it on the gun or on the pump? thanks in advance.

Hey, i was going bannanas with my pump,.. Until about a week ago it has been down since about january! You guys oughta make this a sticky, or copy it somehow and put it in the library,.... Gene, hint hint. ;) earlmarne sent me this when i had problems and its very detailed and descriptive of where the orings are suppose to go. So i walked through this guide as per the disassembly and layed it all out. The actual culprit was me removing an oring from inside a brass piece and not putting another one in it. (my pump would get to about 1400psi and blow the air out of the intake piece) http://talonairgun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9460 (http://talonairgun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9460)
Anyway, without further ado, here is the link. I hope its not illegal to share good stuff from another forum. Thanks for the support guys and i hope this helps somebody elses as much as it helped me. Later dudes!!
