hows the new IGt system? how does it compare to crosmans nitro piston?
-
Very similar. Concept is is the same with 2 obvious exceptions:
1) Gas spring point origin - Spain. (I doubt this makes and difference)
2) Gamo's piston is very light in mass compared with some of the Cross/Bengi's.
I have the .22 Gamo IGT SS. It shoots with 14.3 CPHPs ~720 fps, 18JSB ~ 630 fps, has nice easy cocking and shooting cycle. They definitely need the GRT4 trigger though. It is a really light rifle even with a full size scope, well under 8 lbs, which makes it great for field use.

cool, thanks for the response, do you if the Silent stalker IGT is a good rifle?

I'm please with the 2 that I have. Lots of folks will knock all the plastic, especially the over-molded barrel. My experience has been that the plastic is very durable and eliminates all worries of field damage and cosmetic damage. There seems to be fewer complaints of lockup issues compared to the Crosmans; I've never had any problems and have lots of pellets thru mine. The scope is pretty much a throw away and the GRT trigger upgrade is a must for serious shooting.
All things considered, it is a good hunting, pest control and plinker to 50yds.
