Title: Can anyone identify the make/model of this air rifle?

I have an old air rifle, it used to belong to my grandfather, so it's at least 60 or 70 years old. There is a number engraved upon the metal of the gun, it's probably a serial number but I can't be sure.
Can anyone tell me what make and model it is?

Thanks man, I did a quick Google search. It's either a BSA Cadet or a BSA Cadet Major. Do you happen to know the difference?

No worries. I'm fairly confident it's a Cadet Major, it seemed to have an adjustable rear sight (which isn't there any more)

I don't actually know, I've never gotten around to buying any ammo for it. But im going to pop down to the gun shop soon and get some.
