Post by: dwk54rak on March 29, 2012, 08:13:45 PM
As the inventory in my signature indicates, I have a 1377 custom in process. The gun showed up From Pyramyd air today. Step one completed. You need to start with a gun. Also got Sight  + transfer seal from Crosman. Waiting Steel Breech.

Congrats Darrell, you've caught up to me. I got my 1322 last week and have been wearing it out. Ordered the steel breech, a reflex 1x sight and am now waiting and nursing a  13XX style blister. Haven't pumped in a long time. Look forward to hearing your thoughts on yours,  jeff

replace the pump fore grip  with Crosman part no. 1389-010, unless your are going for the really nice wood ones. The Crosman is $10.00 and no more pinched fingers and better leverage. It is the one they used on the 1389 Pack packer
The 1322 is fun.

Is that the forearm that only comes in dark green? Does look much more comfortable. Just ordered M Chavkas sighted metal barrel bands in polished finish and C Mellons flow through bolt and power adjuster, holding off on the internals till i decide between delrin or brass... :)

regarding Crosman; When I started researching air guns and buying air guns (last year July) I figured You had to spend some money and get a German Gun. I still don't own a German gun and may never own one. (I know have 2 shooting) and one in process (1377) crosman and since I only shoot paper and cans; I am amazed at the accuracy of a basic Crosman 13xx or 22xx gun.  The triggers are lacking. When I get a new one The first thing that happens is I take off the right hand grip and remove the trigger spring and cut 2 1/2 loops off of the length and then stretch it back to its original 1.25 inches.  The trigger is a little Creepy put I can get off some good shots. We'll then decide if we need to after market a trigger or not.
Crosman  knows Marketing.

referring to my above quote where I stated that the Crosman triggers were lacking out of the box. My new 1377 had the basic long hard creepy trigger.  I "adjusted the spring" and polished the trigger for about a minute on emery cloth and you would think it was a different gun. Take out the slack and two pounds later it is a sent pellet.

i think you have type-oed fore grips instead of shoulder stock but for clarification:

There have not been any black FOREARMs made for the backpackers 1389 or 2289.
They have ALL been green. #1389-010. If you see the backpacker forearm in black or any other color for that matter, it has been painted.

The Shoulder Stock was available in Green with NO grip frame screw holes. Made for the backpacker series of guns that had the quick removeable shoulder stock. #1389-022. Its gone. sold out. It is confusing though it has the number 1399 custom on its side.

Another shoulder stock, made to be an accessory for the pistols that share the common grip frame, is BLACK and has grip frame screw holes. #1399A001. Its available and currently being used as the mainstay shoulder stock for all their pistols including the maruader.

Also, The custom shop guns are using a shoulder stock made form the same mold. I especially like the one in camo.

There might be a new forearm, part #1389-014 that might be black. Does anyone have info on this?

I ordered 2 of 1389-014 they are the entire forearm assembly.
ie. fore grip mounted to pivot arm.
Also 2 of 1389-010.
They are both dark green.

Dwk54rak, I would take the forearms out in the sun and place them on something black and I bet you will see the green tint to them. ;)

Crosman Parts. I use crosman.com/schematics. A whole list of guns from back to the fifties comes up with breakdown and part no.  As for pictures you have seen my first two crosmans and the third is not done. Al I have done to it is add
the steel breech and a 4x30 utg Leapers mini scope. The scope has parallax down to 3 yards, but as mentioned by others, I think the reticle is too fat. It makes it hard to aim at smaller targets. And also as mentioned about the lighted reticle, I don't even keep a battery in either one of the two I have. I keep a battery in my (what back in my black powder days we called our possibles bag) A possibles bag is carrying anything you may need for a day out in the field. Pictures when I'm done

On crosmans website down in the lower right side of the home page, you see a link to manuals PDF parts lists. They have them for Benjamin, Sheridan, past guns and in some cases future guns not yet available.

Here is the link for the page
