Title: Ordered New Hatsan 135 today!
Post by: Nicholas440 on March 28, 2012, 01:33:44 AM

Hi Guys,

I'm new here, I've lurked this forum for a long time reading as much as I could absorb, and you all seem to have a tremendous amount of knowledge on these guns.    So I signed up and here I am.

Today I ordered a new  Hatsan  135 with Walnut stock,  and I'm excited over it.  I did a ton of research online and watched some videos as well.  I currently have a Tech Force 99 magnum with a Jim Macari spring installed in it. The TF 99 is just a little heavy for me, and I'm forever apprehensive about inserting the pellet after reading about a guy who almost lost his fingers when the breech slammed closed on him, he forgot to hold the cocking lever down. I just got the Tech Force 99  less than a week ago, and I'm not little weakling, and the gun is beautiful , with a nice 3x9x44 adjustable scope on it, but I just don't feel comfortable with it so, I opted to get the Hatsan 135 .

The Hatsan  guns seem to have come a long way as far as quality, and with this SAS system, and the Quattro trigger thats adjustable, it seems like a great gun.  I love a magnum, I'm a fan of loud noises although I know that most people prefer a silent pellet rifle.

I will report back on it when it comes, and give you my first impressions, and some photos if someone here can tell me how to attach a photo in this forum.  I know in other place you need to use something like Photobucket and put the link in. So Im not sure here, I tried to find info on posting pics, but I havent found anything yet.

Any thoughts on how this gun will perform or  hold up? I've read a things on it, someone said in one post that it will beat itself up because of the magnum spring, but a good review I read said after  2000 rounds the gun was still just as tight and shoots even better than out of the box. So I hope I get a good one !

Will try to get photos up on Friday which is the scheduled delivery day...

That 135 sure looks nice.  Think it's about the same weight though. I don't think the 135 will be much different the the 125 and they have been around for several years.

I hope the TF99 has a good Anti-Beartrap. My RWS-48 makes me a little nervous and I know the Anti-beartrap would hold, but I sure don't want to test it. A good underlever is on my want list as I think they are easier to load than a sidelever and I do like a fixed barrel gun.

You can upload photo's directly into your post as long as they aren't to big. I just edit mine down. I think it's 200kb size limit.

Thanks Charles,   I do like the  fixed barrel idea, and to be honest when I first started looking,  I was not a fan of the break barrel guns,  but after doing a lot of research I think both are good as long as the break barrel  can lock tight back in it's original place for accuracy.  I've also seen a few guns that load at the breech with a swing up loading device, and Hatsun has the bold load feature on the underlevers they look great too.

I'll have to  try to down size the photos I think I can do that.  Thanks again...

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the welcome,   I ordered the Hatsan 135 in  .177 caliber,  I thought about getting it in .22 cal,  but I've got so many .22 cal guns already  , although none of them are pellet guns.  I  have gathered about  4000 or more pellets over the years from shooting the Crosman 1377 pistol, that I figure I might as well just stick with .177 for now since all my shooting is just in the backyard with targets and sometimes at the local gun range.

Curious to hear how accuracy is with the .177 since most the pellets around 8 grains in the 135 should be hitting around 1100 fps or more. Some say breaking the sound barrier will hurt accuracy and some say it doesn't.  I guess I should get some 7.0 hobbies and see how my RWS48 does.

Wow, 135 in .177 ? ...if I was to order a 135 I would go .25 and stretching for .22

Hope it turns out good for you

I'll be getting a Leapers 3-9 x40 for it,   but for now I'm taking the one thats on the Tech Force I bought,  Im not sure of the brand, it's Chinese probably,  it's 3-9 x 32 I believe,   it's not bad but I'd like a scope on each one the Tech Force and the Hatsan.

I didn't want to get the .25 or .22,  I have 6  .22 calibers now, and several .25's as well, and I dont hunt with it plus I have somewhere about 4 or 5000 pellets just sitting around waiting to hit some targets.  I'm sure the  135 in .22 cal would be a real beast, as would .25 ,  and who knows, If I really like this  135 in .177  I just might have to try that .22 just to see how it shoots...    lol...

Will post some pics when I unbox it  and then I'm going to clean the bore,  wipe it all down with a good oil, to protect the steel,   then I'll do some targets and dial the scope in..
