Have a Daisy Winchester that is new and has such a harsh firing cycle it sheared off the back scope stop. The head of the screw was taken completely off. Light 4x32 centerpoint scope mounted on one piece scope mount all screws cleaned and treated with locktight blue. Again it still managed to slip back on the dovetail. Don't have an easy out that small so I decided to clean the dovetail with alcohol and put locktight in the slots of the dovetail mount which, buy the way, I saw in another thread .on this forum. I put the gun in it's soft case back, stored butt end down in the closet to cure. A week later i decided to see if it would hold. Took it out to shoot and noticed the varnish soft and coming off by the safety. Got a cue tip and daubed it to see what was going on. Apparently got a little to zealous with the blue stuff because excwss had run down the groves and onto the stock. This stuff makes excellent paint remover. Lesson learned. Now I have a quarter size piece of bare wood to somehow repair.
