I put in the GRT-III trigger and the instructions were great...but I tried the trigger replacement without them in front of me. I took out the safety pin. Reading some other forums here I think I got the safety put back in correctly, it works (tested ON and OFF).
I found two problems. 1) After I shoot, the GRT trigger doesn't spring back into place. I have to flick it forward after firing. After I manually move the GRT forward it works fine, safety and all. In the original trigger, it had a spring that the instructions didn't say to reuse. Is this normal?
2) I have the hair trigger. I haven't done any adjustment on it, so hopefully I can adjust the hex screw or the flat head screw to lengthen the first stage. If I need to put the original trigger back in, how do I get the original trigger spring installed?

You need to re-use the original spring.

Thanks Sam, but the instructions didn't say to reuse the original spring. And it turns out I didn't need the original spring from the Benji trigger. The trigger spring is restored AND I eliminated the hair trigger!
I had mistakenly took out the safety pin. That released the bottom sear and bottom sear spring which is responsible for keeping downward pressure on the bottom sear. The bottom sear spring uses the safety pin as a pivot point, and it's normally under tension. The bottom sear spring has a loop in the middle that goes on top of the bottom sear toward the stock side, and the two straight ends of the spring go toward the barrel side, with the pivot point pointing down. The difficulty I had was getting the tension set into the spring while inserting the safety pin back in. Using small flat head screwdrivers and other small tools, I was able to get the safety pin back in while the bottom sear spring is under tension.
I now know how the bottom sear works. I couldn't do a good sketch how the bottom sear spring goes in, but if you have taken out the safety pin send me a message and I could talk you through it.

you have to be careful with that trigger. If you install it just a hair bit out of place, you could end up with a misfire...or even worse, your safety could fail at any time.
Had it happen to me on my first XL...

I hear you. I had a successful 3 shot trial last night and it looked good, and will do some extensive safety and trigger testing this weekend.
