Well my xl 1000 was a tack driver for 6 months until last week. I was cocking her and the barrel slipped from my hands and swung back up after that she was shooting abought 3 feet high at 30 yards and I could not bring poi down.so I bought a new scope thinking that was the prob but now with the new scope I still have the same problem?anyone know wut could be wrong? :'(

Yep, you bent the barrel. I did it too. Dont sweat it. It can be straightened. Or you can just buy another barrel for approximately $20.

As the brother mentioned the barrel was bent up as the barrel block snapped shut6. Ed

That is wit I was afraid of got any tips on getting the barrel straight myself? You wouldn't think it could get bent that easy
-
Same thing happened to mine too. I sent it back and got it replaced.

I don't want to send it back because this gun was my first diy home tune I did everything to her :-\

Call Crosman tomorrow with the part number and they will send you one for $15.65 plus shipping. Look on their website for the pat number they have a schematic for the gun them call and ask for Kim they are slow shipping parts right now because they are so busy, at least that is what they told me. Then get on Gene's site and get the brass bushings for the breech pivot $6 I think, if you hadn't already done so. airguntoys, com. Hope this helps. BTW I'm changing my 1500 to an 1100.

A replacement barrel from Crosman is inexpensive. If you are going to order one anyway, then you have nothing to lose by trying to straighten it. I made an adapter (eye bolts) and attached them to my spring compressor to use it as a barrel straightener too. But, take a look at Bob's info page. There is a document entitled Fixing A Misaligned Barrel. That will give you some tips to try it. Also search here. There are several posts about straightening a barrel.

As others said, order a new one. At that price it (to me any way) makes more sense than trying to straighten it. You could also order a different caliber as well if you wanted.

It also depends on where the barrel bent. If the bend is right at the breach and the rest is fairly straight, it will be harder to correct. If it is a smooth bend along the length, the fix is fairly straight-forward.

I would think that if were bent at the breech it would show up on the shroud as a gp or kink. At the muzzle end it should show up as a kink or slight dent.

Use a guitar string and a small C-clamp. Clamp it on one end and pull it tight to the other end, and you should be able to see where it's bent.
-
Yup it was bent from about mid barrel I bent it back down got POI to drop back down still need to set the scope we will see?

There is a member here named lizzie and she created a device to re-straighten barrels. Give her a PM and she can help you.

There is a plan for the barrel straightener on CDT's site.
