Today I took out my new 2nd Winchester 1100XSU to Chronograph it. Using Beeman kodiak Match 10.65gr pellets the average velocity was 940fps 20.9fpe with a high of 942 and a low of 938.7. Then I used RWS hobby 7gr pellets. They averaged 1156fps 20.78fpe with a high of 1158 and a low of 1155.
What surprised me was how accurate the RWS Hobbies were even going supersonic. groupings were about .6" at 20yrds. With the Beeman Kodiaks, the groupings were <.3" at 20 yrds.
I would like to get the FPS down around 900fps. Knowing the 10.65gr pellets averaged 940fps, what pellets can I buy to get me around 900fps?

I'd be happy with less than .3" @ 20 yards and 20 fpe! I think that could easily put 5 in an inch at 50 yards, maybe even 60. That much power in .177, with that kind of accuracy, is probably good for a headshot on a raccoon out as far as you can make one. Just saying...

I am happy with the groupings, but I feel they could be better if I could shoot a heavier round to get the FPS down just a bit more. I like the H&N domed pellets, but they don't have any in the 11-12 grain weight. They do have the Silver Points at 11.57gr. I will get some to see how they shoot.
My main hunting rifle for tree rats is my Mod95 in .22.
