Title: Nitro Piston Pistol from Crosman ...
Post by: NotRocketSurgery on March 01, 2012, 02:09:16 PM
There hasn't been much said about the Crosman BBP77 (I think) Nitro Piston Break Barrel Pistol lately.  Has anyone read anything ... heard any rumors ... spreading any half truths or outright lies?  Any word on when it is due for sale?  It seems like the older one gets, the harder it is to wait ...

I am interested in it as well....

A good piston powered pistol (say that five times, fast)  must be harder to make cheap than any other airgun......

Look at some of the current ones

P-1/Hw's

tempest

RWS LP whatever

Beeman p-5

All these guns are over 150 or better, and most over 250.......
What is the technology behind them?   I have read few and mixed reviews about the Ruger Mark 1, I was considering that one......gotta say, not a big fan of rams, but may have to try this one out.   Just from price standpoint.  Wanting a good boat/wading gun that puts out decent power, not c02.  May have to go HB22 or 1322.
Follow up shots just seem to be quicker with the spring piston.

God bless,

Farmer

There's been a long-running thread here http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php/topic,24773.0.html (http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php/topic,24773.0.html) about it, too.

In a way, I'm lucky... I have way more pistols than I have time to shoot, so no rush at all on this one.

I just know I'll end up getting one of these. Probably one of the first, with all the bugs etc.  ;D It's more fun that way!

i got 1 last month from basspro and shot it 5 times and took it back to basspro. it was the worse p.o.s. i ever had. it was almost impossible to brek open and it had a loonngg trigger pull that was too heavy about 8 pounds of pull. when i took it back, the young lady that worked returns had 1 too and she returned hers too as she broke the cocking aid when she first tried to cock it . i think i gave $ 79+tax for mine

they put the grip at the very end and its like 3 pounds, nose heavy. the grips darn well wont slip in your hands though as they are way too sharply cut stipled or square blocks that start cutting into your hands, hard to break hard to cock, trigger is worce than the quest trigger, and if 1 can hit the side of the barn your doin something. i looked on crosman's site after i bought mine and i think there was mabe 20 negative reviews and 3 positive reviews. if they did a little more homework before it hit the stores it woulda been a nice pistol. sadly they just didnt think it through
