i picked up 4 ruger mark 1 refurbs from www.airgubsdaily.com (http://www.airgunsdaily.com)
ive read everywhere these guns were hit and miss on getting a good one.
recieved them today,they look like new,well packaged....ect.
fired 50 rounds through each gun.
2 guns group decent,
#1 grouped 3 inches at 10 yards with cphp's......problem,sights are maxed out.....still low and to the left.
#2 grouped a wonderfull 1 inch group with cphp's......same issue with maxed out sights.
#3 wont group at all, loudest firing of them all.
for the first 10 shots, smoke poured out of this one.never hit the target.
#4 has serious fps issues,1 shot powerfull,next 2 shots very weak,then a powerful,then a few weak.
only 1 round hit my 12x12 target from a 10 yard bench rest.
i tried all guns with and without cocking grip, not much difference.
im just really happy i didnt pay full price for them.
3 of my friends wanted 1,plus one for me.
how is your refurb?
-
ill contact airgunsdaily, either all the gun are going back....i may try the 2 better ones to see if accuracy gets better and on track.
im very disappointed in these refurbs.
never got a bum shooter from them ....untill now!
oh and #3.....8 out 10 rounds never leave the barrel,i suspect burnt seal, sounds like a hard dry fire,no resistence on the piston.

after more shooting,2 of the refurbs need to re-refurbed.
ill try contacting agd,for a partial refund or credit towards a future buy.
-
Did you try different pellets? My Titan shotgun patterns the cphp.
-
yes i tried a few different rounds in the 2 that worked, the other 2 are beyond pellet choice.
jsb,destroyer,crosman comps,gamo red fires,gamo tomohawks.
my best group was 1 inch with cphps from 10 yard rest.

as is out of the box,i agree, got mine today at 2;30pm,completely took it a part going on what i read on this post and others, yep is got more oil than some car engine's,cleaned everything ,honed the cylinder and the piston, inspected the seal all good ,added 2 washers to spring to stack it a bit for more power, shot it tonight from 8.pm till 10.pm,after the thing settled in say 150 shots in,started grouping,8.4 tf dome pellets at 12 feet quarter size, switch over to the daisy variety pack, the hollow points dime size, the others in the pack nickel size, OK,so to the power test"with the 8.4gr tf domed almost goes threw a flori dah tag plate at 12feet the Daisy's dented nicely, goes threw water bottle and soda can lined up back to back, still waiting for my crony to give some fps,and i want to try some 7.4gr cphp.s and domed, and some 10.5gr.just for giggles, yes this gun is np doable ,trigger is manageable, and adjustable, site,s on mine adjusted great to 12feet,will see what she does from farther distance's at another time ,with the cocking sleeve on shoots 5 inches low, ever time, so for 37.99 + 12.00 shipping, and a bit of a tune, this is a good buy, IMO, i may put a red dot on it once it breaks in,is so simple to work on;so i hope one-shot you put some time and a bit of work into it,i think you will come to enjoy this pistol,imo..more testing to come on later post..oh and by the way when i opened the boxes and unwrapped the brown paper from gun the rear site screw fell to the ground,,,so at that moment i thought,one-shot this is a piece of junk,,so much for first impressions huh?turned out screw was easy to re install, and gun was a piece of coal, now its at least crystal lol...now if they would just put the ruger air magnum up for sale at a.g.d ;D

not too bad for the price, but blown seals out the box!
not griping, just stating my mark 1 experience.
2 guns are only good for a project,i dont mind playing with it for that price....the problem.....my friends paid for good working guns, now i have to pay them back.
i cant give them guns that dont shoot right.

i agree, send the bad ones back ,,,hopefully get 2 good ones in return...junk is junk anyway you look at it....

im getting refunded for the 2 bad rugers....thanx agd.
-
that's great one-shot,took the trigger a part and filed and polished the seer, and replaced the seer spring with a lighter one, made the trigger so much smoother, maybe 3 lb,s guessing ,also the thing loves 10.5gr cpum.s and it hurl,s them fast to the target .and accurate out to 20yards on tin cans and very quite;i put a red dot on it tonight and at 10feet its close to 1 hole .on 5 shot group from rest.i am very pleased with this little cheap air pistol, hope yours do good as well; ;D
-
Very happy to see this.....not for your bad luck, but to see impressions.
I have been thinking about picking one of these up, the refurbs. Now not so sure. I feel adept enough to fix it, provided parts are available.....
Still undecided.....can get a refurb 1377 for around the same price.....
Hmmm..
God bless,
Farmer
