If you had the choice of the 97k in blue laminate or black synthetic, which would you go for?
-
For me, the blue lam. Unique and excellent airgun and that's a unique stock. HW97K deserves wood furniture.
;D
Happy Shooting!!!!

I have a 97K with the beech stock. Love it.
The only comparison I can make is that I have a Ruger Air Magnum with a synthetic stock. And as others have reported with hollow synthetic stocks, they can act as a megaphone and be quite annoying up next to your ear. I've experienced this even after filling my stock with foam.
This is not to say that the 97K with a synthetic stock would do the same . . . but it is something to consider.
EDIT: If you are just asking about "looks" then the blue lam gets my vote also. I think it is beautiful . . . but wasn't worth the extra $$ to me. Laminated stocks are also reported to be more stable in varying climate conditions.

Blue lam, please.
I dislike black stocks, synthetic worse than wood.

Blue!

yep blue but I have 2 in beech so I have no complaints with beech they work well for my needs! :P
-
I would have to go with the black stock. I think the blue one is one of the ugliest stocks made.
-
I've been told the black stock is actually painted wood, not synthetic. I'd need to see them in person to really decide.
-
I'll be seeing the black stock tomorrow. Will post.
-
It's black synthetic, thumbhole style, Crayfish (GTA Member) has one with stainless hardware and barrel.
Here's the AoA link for latest HW97 offerings. http://www.airgunsofarizona.com/Weihrauch.htm (http://www.airgunsofarizona.com/Weihrauch.htm)

It`s true, the black 97K is synthetic (click long range airguns in left menu here:)

Weihrauch does sell some `painted`black wood stock rifles, HW50s nickle is one; but the current offering on the 97 is indeed plastic.

I would go wiff wood. Don't care what color..:)
-
I like the black look
-
Blue!
-
I would go with the blue!
-
Id go with the blue laminate. Soooooo pretty.
-
I too would go with the blue laminate. Regular beech would be my second choice. Is this poll made to try to figure out what most people like to know which has the best resale value? I hate to break it to you, once you get any of them, you won't be selling... ;D
-
The Blue is awesome ,but just another thing to think about if you like checkering the blue does not have it. My 97K is beech and the wood work is very well done. Dustin
-
Agreed! :P

-
Blue all the way.
-
how I'd rank them
1) Beech
2) Blue
3)Green (LOL they only made 100 or so LOL)
4)Synth
Beech has the elegant checkering. I've NEVER seen an ugly 97k! Which ever you choose, she'll be a winner

Then you got the KT and the nickel in KT and syn. Oh so many choices and all beautys. ;D
