Hi i have a chance to pick up a used 48 177cal. its got something broken in the cocking strut or arm or something,i haven't seen it yet but i would like to get it if i can get a good enough deal. I will fix er up question is where do i get parts for these bad boys also i want to put a 22 barrel on it so hopefully can by that to and is it just a barrel swap. how much do you guys think i should pay assuming the rest of the gun is in good shape.

Parts are available from Umarex and possibly Pyramyd Air. A barrel swap is not easy. If you really want a .22 cal I suggest you look for one rather than try to re-barrel a .177. Hard to say what the value is, without knowing all the parts that need to be replaced and the overall condition of the gun.

IF, and that is a BIG if, you can find some one willing to re barrel it, it will be close to the price of a new one.

I know somebody who can re barrel it for but it ain't cheap! + you'll have the cost of the barrel and shipping, so you can figure about 250 bucks just to put a barrel on the gun! a Lother Walther barrel in the whites is about $111 to your door and about another $120 to have it installed unblued! so unless your serious about re barreling the gun and plan to keep it forever I wouldn't do it! because you'll never get your money back out of the rifle! I know I built many guns and have had them re barreled and I've done all the tune work and yes their awesome shooter's but but you'll have allot of money invested in them and the only way you'll get it back is from enjoyment in using the gun because nobody is gonna give you what you've invested in the gun especially a Diana rifle now if it was something rare that would be different JMO :P
