Well my Disco .25 caliber Carbine has finally got started. Now the only thing that has not arrived is the LW 16” .25 caliber barrel and that should show in the next week or two. The Disco Carbine will also feature one of Lloyd’s double tube kits. That is the only way to go for a carbine with high power to get enough shots.
In the pictures you will see the new multi shot breech and shroud w/brass end cap from Sergio at BNM Custom Air Guns. The carbine will be trimmed out with brass parts such as the power adjuster / degasser, safety button that you see in the pictures and coming will be a brass trigger, barrel band, and brass end caps for the air tubes. In the pictures is also the QB78 stock that will used in the final gun and is still having some inletting done to fit correctly. You will note on the right side of that stock is a area marked out in black that I may cut out of the stock, just have not made a decision on that yet. I think it would make the stock rally an eye catcher. Well I had some idle time so I refinished the Disco factory stock and I think it came out pretty nice and will be used for other things in the near future.
This Topic will be updated as things progress
Thanks for looking and comments, ideas and suggestions are very much appreciated.

this looks like a sweet project. cant wait to see the build done
-
norm how would you rate sergios shroud compared to a tko ?
-
Well Mike I worked with Sergio to design this breech with the built in weaver rail, a boss on the end for the shroud and designs on the sides to dress it up. His work is top notch and his idea of the changeable block in the breech makes changing calibers a snap. I have not hand a TKO breech in my hands so it is very hard to say which I would rate better than the other. All I can say is this breech is very well made, real smooth and if the time comes I need another one for a project it will be one of these.

Great project Norm!
-
oh my bad i was trying to get a few comparisons of the shroud compared to the tko ldc..
it looks like ur shroud ends at the end of the barrel does it not have any baffles ?
-
What kinda power are you shooting for on this project?
-
Mike at this time I do not even have the LW barrel yet so I have no idea how lound it will be. The air tube will be cut by 4" - 5" and the shroud will have 4 or 5 baffels and need a little trimming. It is going to be LOUD!
Using Lloyd's Double Tube Kit I hope to get 16 good shots but will settle with 8 as I want as much power I can from it which I hope will be about 50 - 60 FPE. One of the things that will end up deciding the power will be accuracy as I am not sure how .25 cal. pellets will shot in the low 900 FPS.

With JSB Kings you are looking at about 51 FPE max.... with Baracudas, about 62 FPE max.... those energies will keep you below 950 fps.... Achieving those values with a 16" barrel will prove to be challenging, and yes the gun will be LOUD.... I'm curious why the bigger, heavier AR stock on a Carbine?....

norm did you need any of the hardware from the oem disco breech ? like the screw that goes through the rear of the breech into the hammer spring cap ? or the that pita tiny breech screw ?
im having to sell the parts off my disco to fund the last bit of the breech and shroud from sergio so i dont want to accidently include the hardware and then end up needing it

Hey Norm very nice project you have going. I have a couple different .25 cal barrels coming. One .25 coming from LW. Keep us posted on the accuracy. I suppose you will be planning on trying the duel tube from Lloyd on this as well.

Real nice build you got going Norm! I am still trying to sort out how I am going to use Lloyds double tube.
Torn between putting it on my .25 carbine and cutting into a really nice stock or just going Disco stock, or a new build.
-
Mike none of the old hardware is needed as they would be to short, Sergio's breech comes with all the new hardware you will need. I saw that you got a Katana stock, what are your plans for the factory one?
Bob I am planning on the e Barracuda or Kodiak pellets (actually they are the same pellet) at 31.02 gr and getting to the low 900 FPS is going to be interesting. As for the large QB78 Target stock it more for something different than anything else. I may cut down the factory stock and use that when taking the carbine out into the field.
Gene that is a big yes on Lloyd's double tube! Without that I would more than likely get 3 or 4 shots at the power level I'm hoping for

Norm, do the LW barrels come as a drop in fit or do they need finish work? Also where is a good place I could purchase one in .22 cal? Down the line I plan on going with a bnm breech or stay with the stock one with a LW barrel along with a stroud if i go bnm or will stay with the tko if stock. I'll be installing it into a Boyd's thumbhole laminate stock that I will finish and inlet myself. I wanna try and get it to give me around 35-40 fpe while getting 10-15 shots if possible.

Don the LW barrel would need a little work done. The breech end would need to be machined down to 7/16", the air transfer port would need to be drilled, a good target crown would be needed and cut to length. If needed Sergio at BNM can do that for you. You can get a LW barrel at http://www.lothar-walther.de/454.php (http://www.lothar-walther.de/454.php) or you could contact Jim Gaska at pnjgaska@windstream.net as he sells them.
