Title: Trail NP .22 cal Laminated wood
Post by: rut on February 05, 2012, 10:52:54 PM
New here folks.I just got the Trail NP laminated wood .22 Cal from Crossman. After doing some reading I've decided to upgrade my trigger.Am I right in assuming that the GRT III from DaTuna is the right one for my gun?The gun seems to be shooting fairly well at 25 yards. Some groups are actually about a  1/2",while most others seem to open up a bit (1"- 1 1/2" +).Figuring maybe it is the factory trigger plus the gun having only about 200 + shots through it.This airgun stuff is all new to me.I'll be killing some Rats and other pests during the close of bow season. Thanks for any help and advice.

Yes, that is the right trigger for your Trail.

The GRT3 is great, I just put one in my Trail XL today, and it is amazing.

I too just installed the GRT111 in my Trail XL (.22)
The first shot took me completely by surprise . It was so sudden and I wasn't ready for it.
Groups have improved markedly.

Rut-

BTW-nice gun in that stock configuration!  Yes as the others stated the GRTIII is the one!  It will really make your groups come in a bit.  Like any new piece it needs a few rounds through it to break it in.  My trigger settled in after about 50 pellets.

Rut,
Congratulations on your LNP .22 !   For the money that model is a real nice choice. I think Crosman only had 100 of them made because of the availabily to manufacture at that price.
Of all the pellets tried by members the survey so far shows H&H FTT in 5.53 to be the most accurate in the NP's . The Tuna Gold trigger is an improvement but, can be very sensitive to get used to. As mentioned, shoot a few more pellets and the stock trigger will get better for you. I have found a nice loose hold helps too. Also the breech's are a bit tight so you might
want to camphor a very small amount of breech so pellet fits flush without a hard push. There was a mention on this a couple of days ago. Good Luck with it and happy shooting.

Welcome to GTA. I've added you to my ongrowing list of Trail NP owners. Looks like you might have a collector's item there with the laminate.

I tried to get this gun about a year ago from Crossman(had pictures of it then on their web site) and they told me that they didn't have any,and most likely woudn't be manufacturing them.I checked a box on their web site back then, stating that they would notify me if they ever went into production. Then several months later I got the email notification that they would be making a limited run.I ordered it that same day.The gun came with a Centerpoint scope, a free case and sling, and also free shipping.Price was $299.99.

Congrats on the new shooter! Like the laminated stock. Ive installed 2 of the grt triggers and it is the best bang for the buck upgrade out there. Make sure you have it pointed in a safe direction before you touch the trigger it is light! Have fun!
