I've been trying to zero a TX200 M3 with a Hawke Map Pro 4-16x50 for some time. This is the second scope I've tried. The rifle has approximately 100-150 rounds through it. The scope ran out of elevation adjustments..couldn't get it to range high enough on the first scope so I bought a mount for the RWS minium barrel droop and it still won't adjust enough and the POI looks like a shotgun..all over the target. As you know, this is a fixed barrel rifle but is it possible for it to have barrel droop? The scope was new and I returned it to Hawke for evaluation. Mike Kurtz examined it and said there was nothing wrong with the scope. Since I don't like the idea of shimming the mount, I'm running out of things to try. Any and all ideas are welcomed.
Thanks, Larry

First reply disappeared so I'll try this again: The rifle was bought new, January 7TH, 2010. I'm shooting at 20-25 yard range. The gun won't give one-hole groups at the same range as my same caliber HW97K does. I've never grabbed the barrel or rough-housed it while cocking.I can't see where it could have been bent in anyway. While it seems the power is there, the best I can do is five to ten rounds grouping 6 to 8 inches C-to-C. Now and again I'll get better shots but the above is more likely. I'm thinking I'll try another mount other than the RWS drooper that I now use. After that, warranty work seems my best bet. I surely hate to argue with a company over a gun that's, in my opinion, not right. I'm running out of ideas.

You should never have to argue with a reputable company. Pleasing a customer (within reason) should be their focus. Doesn't help with your issue but I'm just sayin...

Sorry about your frustrations Larry. I'd be frustrated too if I had a TX200 that shot groups like you are describing. It sounds like you have a mount problem. Lot's of folks say that a one piece mount is more rigid and dependable but in my experience with a mild recoiler like a TX200 two piece Sportsmatch rings seem to hold just fine. With your 50mm objective bell you would need high mount rings to have clearance. Optically center your scope and start from there.Regardless of where the POI is (high, low, left or right) the pellets should hit in a real tight group if you can shoot and I assume you can if you have a HW97.If your groups are erratic and the scope/mounts/stock screws are all snug then you have some other problem.Dirty barrel, bad scope, bad pellets,or a blown seal. You didn't say what caliber or pellets you are shooting.I shoot the .177 and CPL's work for me but then again mine seems to shoot everything well.If you can chronograph a string of say 30 or so shots it would indicate if you have seal issues or not. Wide velocity spreads indicate a problem. If after trying a different mount or rings you still can't bring POI to POA but it is grouping tight then change scopes to a model that has more adjustment range or get an adjustable mount like the Beeman 5039. Like Spysir said, I've never heard of a TX that suffered from droop and I too would like to know how this plays out so keep us informed. Would you mind?
