i got home from work this afternoon and for the first time in two weeks was able to get in the driveway now that the ice was all gone ,and as i pull in there in my feeder is a starling. figuring its just going to fly i pulled right in like i always do and shut the truck off. this starling just stood there looking at me like he was going to introduce him or herself (you pick). i said to myself is this starling that stupid or is it going to fly when i open the door and walk to the house. i then opened my door and got all my stuff of the passanger seat and walk to the house, the whole time being watched by the starling just standing on the feeder. well i got to the house and went inside but left the door ajar so i could take a shoot if possible.i set my stuff down and took a quick look and there that stupid starling was still watching. i got my titan and a jsb diablo and loaded it in the chamber, settled down behind my scope and found my target still standing there with its watchful eyes looking right at me,lights out. another one down ;D.......dave

Nice shot Dave! ( maybe he was there on a dare ;) )
-
gracious- that really IS a stupid starling. :o
-
Good shooting. Sounds to me like that starling suffered from severe depression and just decided to end it all :)

Maybe your Starling had a death wish? Good shooting by getting rid of another of those pests.

Birds bear retard offspring too ... :P

He or she just wanted to get to a higher plane of evolution quicker. Thanks for your help....much appreciated by him/her.

May have been conditioned by other people feeding and watching them where it thought you were no threat and were going to feed it more. It got fed alright but it didn't know it was going to get fed some lead though.

Sounds like the old "superglue on the feeder perch" trick to me -- no starling is that stupid (or ?)...
-
Well this is one reason i hate starlings they get to bold and think they can do what ever they want. Thanks for showing him who's boss.

Thats funny the knuckle head kust sat there like he was boss. Got what he deserved for sure.
-
thats amazing... i just open the back door and they are outa there...only spring will help with new customers coming in...
-
t seems like i'm not getting many starlings w/ the warm weather but the few i am getting just hang out until there shoot, normally i don't even get a shot off.
-
Too bad that bird was the exception rather than the norm. It sure would be nice to always get a free shot like that. But if we eliminate the dumb ones they can't pass on that trait!
