Title: P-rod groups
Post by: Rico14 on January 26, 2012, 07:59:38 PM
I shot three groups with my P-rod today.  These 5 shot groups were shot at 25 yards with H&N FTT  5.53. The P-rod has been tuned by Ronnie Easton and I'm using the Crosman barrel

Wow, that is dialed in! You need to find something smaller than a dime. Mine is not tuned, and I can get them in the dime but not that tight!

What scope magnification are you using on it, may I ask?

The scope is a Hawke Airmax 4-12x50. I have it set on 8

Well, I hope you are very happy with it. You should be.

Hawke has been good for me, and my P-rod in particular (2-7x32 Airmax). I have no issues with my Crosman barrel, and it looks like you don't either.

That pistol is shooting just fine. Nobody can ask for more than that.

Great groups you have there.  It looks like its plenty accurate for hunting.  You've definitely got the right blend of good barrel, accurate pellet used, nice tune, and good technique.  Seems like a nice little gun with plenty of potential for accuracy.

thanks guys. I'm extremely happy with the way the tune turned out. The p-rod is a joy to shoot and it's hard to put down once I start shooting it.

Nice groups! Those little PRods are just fantastic.
Have you shot it over a Crony to see what kind of shot curve your getting? How many shots on a fill?

P-Rods are loads of fun and versatile. Good shootin'. How many lbs/ozs is your trigger set to? Is it still stock?

The trigger is not stock. Ronnie Easton worked his magic on it when he  tuned it. Not sure how many pounds it is. It also has one of Ronnie's trigger shoes on it.

P-rod I was working on the BARREL for buddy last month was printing very much like yours with the SAME FTT 5.53 pellet.
He wanted ULTIMATE accuracy at sub 12# power level.

** His Internals and such ALSO tuned by Mr. Easton

HP horsepower / fpe ?

Ah, I now see your chrono string. Approx. 12.5 fpe

Good shooting. A keeper for sure.
