Title: A tree Rat for Harry and Ed
Post by: dk1677 on September 14, 2010, 07:25:09 PM
I must have absorbed some Zen from Ed, here's what happened. I  had been doing some work around the house ( checking for tree rats and chippers now and then) When I was finished I sat down at my shooting window to watch the birds and keep an eye out for critters and kind of drifted off to sleep and had this sort of half awake dream that a tree rat was running around my yard and woke up and quickly looked out and there was nothing there but as I settled back in the couch out of the corner of my eye I saw a tree limb bouncing up and down. Sure enough it was a nutter! She came along my fence as I loaded a Kodiak in the Disco and as I open the window it looked like she was gone. I waited a minute and she popped up out of the yew bush and sat on top with a butternut. I couldn't get a clear shot from the sill rest so I stood and shot free hand , the Kodiak hit a low in the left chest and out the right. . She landed on the ground and didn't twitch. And for Harry there's a picture with the Disco  :D  Thanks for the Zen Ed!  ;)                                 (http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb138/dk1677/100_2218.jpg)              (http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb138/dk1677/100_2217.jpg)

Nice off-hand shooting Dave!  Believe it or not, I have dozed off in my chair in the porch watching the birds too.  It's very relaxing.  When I woke up there was a nutter in plain sight.  That was last Fall.  Today was a very nice out and I almost dozed off again around 5:30pm after work when I sat down in the porch.  I must be getting old I guess :)

Nice pic with the Disco Dave, and you have a chain-link fence like me :)
