I received a new Diana 48 last week and was looking for the date in which it was manufactured. I've read that it's stamped on the left side of the breech just forward of the safety, albeit in small letters/numbers. I've gone over that area with a strong light and a magnifying glass and can't see it. My 52 is marked in plain sight but not this one. Is it possible the date numbers are covered and I'll have to remove the action from the stock? I have no doubt that it's a new rifle...it does have the T 06 trigger..I'm just curious as to the month of manufacture.

Steve...Thanks for the information. I had not heard that the practice had been discontinued. It suprises me.

They recently discontinued the MM YY stamping and now have some other markings that are not as definitive. For exact info, search on the Dianawerk.

Red Feather I looked all over that site you gave and all I found was no more date markings on RWS guns an the present time. I might have missed something but I couldn't find anything more. Rickey
