Title: i Tim McMurry still building the Mac1 392 steroid?
Post by: Bryan Heimann on January 16, 2012, 05:38:06 PM
Is Tim McMurray still building the 392 Steroid? His old page is still there, but when I look at his airgun store page it only gives info about the Izzy pistol.  It used to be set up to buy all his stuff online.  I'll probably pick up an airgun this february, and aside from my 760 it will be my one and only for a while- might as well be the 392 steroid

He has them on his price list as of yesterday.  Why not give them a call tomorrow.  I had not heard that he has stopped making them.  Let's hope not!

Ditto on the calling.  Best to pick up the phone.  Not sure what is up with the web site as on "that other forum" you can't find any current history.  I think his web site was partially hijacked by the web developer and is mostly inactive.  I looked at it last week to see the price on a valve tool....could not find it so I ended up going to Web Archive....  end of story - call during business hours.

You hear good and bad from feedback on them, CS-wise.   But when I called the man, he made time for me, answered questions and shot the bull briefly.   And this was on a "blem"329, which had some very minor cosmetic flaws for a discounted price.

He knows how to build a hammer, for sure.   And the one I got is very accurate.

Everyone is entitled to thier opinions....mine is that Mac-1 is a class act.   And stand behind what they sell.

IF I had to choose just one, it would be the steriod.   Can do it in .22, really.

God bless,

Farmer

I couldn't agree more!
Call Tim and he will build a Steroid for you.

You won't find any info on Mac-1 at the Yellow any longer.  He and Steve, the owner there, are on the outs, BIG time!  ::)

I'm sure you can find all the Mac1 info you need right here. ;)
Or on his web site.

Too bad his CS is hit and miss, I found it to be a total miss. Not a man I want to do any business with for any reason.

I hung out at Tim's shop late last year, just inquiring about different airguns and learned a lot from Tim.  He explained a lot of stuff  to me about various designs and I ended up buying a Condor from him after I think the 3rd visit.  He really knows his stuff, and I prefer buying from him than some salesman that only knows specs from the brochure.

Thinking about getting one of his modded 1377's next.
