My neighbor picked this up at a hardware store several years ago and never took it out of the box. He had planned to scare the birds out of his garden with it but his eyes went bad and he lost interest.
So he brought it to me. I smoothed up my old B3 so I am going to do the same for this one and give it back to him before garden season.

Ya just gotta love those B-3's :)
The metal and bluing on that one seems pretty decent, should turn into a fine garden pest control rifle. Very nice of you to fix it up for him. I'm sure he'll really appreciate the work and effort.

Thats cool, you are gonna make his day! Maybe paint some bright highlights on the sights. That will help tired old eyes.
God Bless

I got 2 of those. One in 22 one in 177. My 22 cal has the scope rail, wish the 177 did. I completly reworked my 177. They are fun little guns and my 177 was my back yard under 15 yd slayer with cheap daisy wad cutters. Spits them out about 650-700. Fun little guns. Good luck on the build and keep us posted.
And yours has the same stamp that looks like a 62, is that right? Or is it a b2?

The stamp is a 62.

Hi Ron,
Don't understand what you meant by "is it burnt?", but it's definitely a B2. The barrel release latch is a B2 hallmark. The insides of this gun are just like the German Diana Model 24. Nice gun. Have fun! Look up "Cheap Seats" in the old GTA if you haven't already - That series of three long posts form the most authorative work on B2 tuning I've ever seen.
Actually, that series is one of the best step-by-steps I've ever read, covering everything from spring end polishing to trigger adjustment to crowning to rear and front sight improvements.

I just cleaned one of these up for a friend, also. It's a pretty decent shooter for such a low end gun. The design is kind of elegant in its simplicity. Your neighbor's gun is in great shape, and should end up a fun shooter.
