Title: TechForce/Westlake S2-1 pistol
Post by: joejoeguns on January 03, 2012, 08:42:32 PM
I recently picked up two of these to play with for awhile then give to my nephews. One wouldn't even shoot a pellet the other topped out at 195 FPS.So I got to work on the dead one and I'm saving the other for later.
What I did.....cleaned and re-crowned barrel, Made new leather seal, installed rubber breech seal, deburred everything, installed washer in piston and one on guide, polished sear, reduced transfer port to.125 and put her back together with JM lubes.
The results after the first 50 shots to settle her down was an average of 362 FPS with a high of 385 and a low of 348.I'm hoping she'll settle in and pick up to a nice 390-400 when the piston works in and the weather warms it's only 20 deg. here.Is this on PAR with some you experts have played with?

I picked up two once.  But I couldn't get over the 3 ton trigger pulls and sights (or barrels) that could not be adjusted even close to point of impact.  I smoothed the sear engagement a little, and that helped but a little, but then I said good bye.  I'm impressed you were able to make a shooter out of one!

Well how good of a shooter is yet to be determined,I haven't even put it on a target yet,I'll be doing that in the morning.I did play with the sights today.I grooved out the rear a little deeper, cause every thing I've read says they are natorious for shooting high.On the front blade  sight I filed a flat spot on the vary tip and drilled a 1/16 th. dimple that I filled with floresent paint.Hopefully I can get at least 2 in groups or better at 10 meters. From the reputation of these guns I'd be happy with that.
I might do a tuning guide with pics on the 2nd one,It's a simple gun to learn on and cheap enough.
  BTW...I did work on the trigger.and I'd bet it's less than 5 lbs. now..lol.

Hi I had one too I think everyone made the mistake of buying one mine shot OK but very high about 4 " at 10 M the only way I was able to fix the POI was to bend the barrel that worked have fun and lots of luck Howie

Reviving an old post but what the heck...
On an impulse I picked up one of these today, and now I have it apart on the workbench.
Not surprisingly it shoots high at 10 yards, but now I see it's expected...
Anyone know what O-ring size to use for the breach seal? I have removed the leather one which was a total mess    good grief. :-\
Thanks.

I had shaped one out of some plumbing washer.  I forget what size or type it was.  Have no chrony but seemed to shoot hard enough.  Also added some screws to shorten trigger pull length.  Had had two same pistols one with a better trigger than the other.

recrown the barrel for sure, every one that I have had needed that.....find some  soft plastic tubing for the breech seal, works good, they need barrel droop to shoot at POI with the factory sights...

I fitted some PE tubing to the breach seal slot, not a perfect fit but I'll will give it a go. Couldn't find an O-ring in my assortment that fit anywhere close. Thanks.
