I might have to start numbering my munk kills like Dave does if this keeps up. Yet another member of the munk clan appeared yesterday. I think it might be the same munk returning from the dead to do battle with me. Eventually I'll have to give up when my deck starts looking like Swiss cheese from all the pellet holes. This guy took a direct hit to the boiler room and tried desperately to hold on to the rail before plummeting into eternal sleep - no doubt only to resurrect himself and be back today.... we'll see about that.

We'll have to plan a TN hunt - will work for food. ;)

Where are you located and what do you want to hunt? :) If my wife wasn't here at the house spying on me today I'd be shooting some squirrels!
Plenty of small game opportunities, turkey, deer, etc. I just don't have a place for hogs yet unless I pay them. We can even set out on the deck and snipe raccoons and possums at night as of next week!
We actually have ELK now!

My wife just left for VA to visit my son for the weekend. Home alone - plan to head up north to the Adirondacks (NY) with my guns. I'd really like to get into some coons at night and I know where to go. If I were properly retired (51 is still tad young) I'd be making road trips more often. TN and the Appalachian Mts. are on my bucket list.

DAYuhm!
Nice video work.
BTW, I had one of those situations some time ago at my old office in the burbs. I saw two chippers digging holes behind my railroad tie retaining wall. In fact, I was noticing one of the bushes not doing so well. I decided that enough was enough. I got out the old Benji/Sheridan .177 and set up to pick them off. Before I could, however, a cat showed up. Took one out. Man, she was fast.
I figured I'd get the next, and I did (this is at about 12 yds). Then she showed up again and I said, "Looks like you're late, girl."
No, she wasn't. She catches another. Hmm. Maybe there were more than two. Put the gun back next to the sliding door. Sure enough, another comes out. He dies. Then another. HE dies. Then Mrs. Kitty takes another. Then I get another, and another and another, then she takes one. All told, we killed 18 of the little bastages! I NEVER saw more than two at that location.
They aren't zombies (like the starlings), they just have a replicator. ;)

Another great video Jim! Very nice smoke effects! ;D
I wish I had some Groundhogs come back to life.. hehehe. They 're all gone finally.. the well has run dry :( What do the chipmunks like to eat? I think I have 1 left :) They are unbelievably fast, and your video shows how they can be in 1 spot one moment, and poof gone the next. It's like they almost fly and don't touch the ground when they run. I have been seen some movement with the corner of my eye one too many times, and I think it's a munk. I refuse to believe I only had 2 of them (which I shot in late Spring). There has to be more out there, but at 20 to 30yds, it is very hard to spot them in the shade under the trees. They blend really well.. Then again with all the neighborhood cats around, maybe they were finally wiped out. My cat used to bring home a chipmunk every few weeks, so they are vulnerable to some fast felines out there.

I'm with Mebits, they must have a replicator. We got several in out backyard (woods). Started out with just one (we thought) living near our unused garden, now there are at least 3 living in different areas, but judging by the holes out there, there have to be more than that.
They've been spared my bite cause they don't mess with the house and the garden is empty, but they are starting to take over out there. Might have to thin the herd one of these days. I think they might be like cockroaches, if you see one, there's a hundred hiding behind the walls.
Harry, our munks go crazy over the spilled black oil sunflower in the bird feeder, but I've also seen them taking our wild blackberries. Lucky for them they can only get the berries low to the ground and left plenty for us... otherwise there might've been a problem. I've seen them all over the acorn grounds too.
Hmmm... the more I think about it the more I like the idea of thinning them out. Don't know if I want a breeding chipmunk population that close to the house. They harbor deer ticks too.

Another great video Jim! LOL yea I bet you have a chipper factory now too! I have one now that keeps giving me the slip.

Man, I wiped all of my chippers out last year! There weren't that many, but I did see a stray the other day! Maybe if I dump some deer corn down in the lowlands I'll see some more.
