Title: Need Tune info on Walther Falcon Hunter .25cal
Post by: coaldust on July 09, 2010, 10:01:01 PM
Brown Santa delivered a .25 cal refurbished Walther Falcon Hunter today and I could use some help/info on what can be done to this rifle to help it shoot smoother and better. Does anyone make a replacement trigger assy for it??? Thanks in advance for any help. Now waiting on my pellet shipment.
In case anyone is interested, I bought the rifle on "airgunsdaily" web site for $161.95, ordered it last sunday and received it on fri.
This is my first post on the "NEW GTA Forum" and I sure like it.

Hi..
The walther is a Hatsan re-branded...
Hatsan Mod 125..??????
All the Hatty's I have been inside of
need a complete new guide set..
As the are very sloppy fit on the spring &
very flimsy plastic....the rear safty unit is
part of the rear guide...but the guide can
be cut of & a new rear guide made that has a
pug on the end that is a snugg fit in the tube
it can be 18mm long before it inderfares with
the trigger..but it has to have a recess to let the spring
slip in side it 15mm or the spring will become coil bound
before the sear latches the piston...the easyest way
is to use a new shorter spring so you don't need to
recess the  rear guide block....

I Have a  Tuned Walther Falcon Hunter .25 thats flings a 24 Gr pellet at 822 FPS. Thats 36FT/LBS. It is a Hatsan
Model 125 and I got my Falcon Tuned By Paul @ RANE AIR. He is the Hatsan Tune Man. I bought my Falcon as a
Re-Ferb from Paul and he tuned it for me and than shipped it to me. The Falcon also has major trigger work done
to it making it smooth and he Tweeks out the inside to get more Consistent and Higher FPS. He is the only one I
would let do a tune on a Hatsan due to his many years of time in these guns. Paul also has hard to find Air Guns
that are not so easy to get in the U.S.

The .25 is a very powerful gun by far besides its english brother the patriot its the most power .25 springer found today at 30fpe next would be the trail xl. A good tune with a magnum springer rated scope can handle a massive beating

i can tune them.  i just tuned a .22 falcon hunter w/ quattro trigger tonight.  just google search "rane air" and it will be in the services and in the built airguns.  it takes 4-5 hours to do it, but i take my time and work everything over.   i'd just tell you how to do it, but it would take hours on the phone walking you through it.    the spring in these guns is a big mofo, so be advised.    - paul d self.

Paul @ Rane Air just did my .25 Walther Falcon Hunter and he did a awesome job at that. My Falcon is at 36FT/LBS
with the H&N Field Target pellets @ 24.38 Grain at 822FPS. I have tested 8 different types ,sizes and weights of
pellets with a few more to run through the Falcon to find out its likes. It likes the H&N Hollow Points also @ 26.23Gr
and the H&N Crow Magnums @ 26.23Gr. The lightest accurate pellets that work well is the Beeman Field Target Special
@19.50 Grains, And the H&N Field Target Trophy @ 20.06. The H&N Baracuda @ 31.02 Grain works also. I have run
these pellets and a few more through the Falcon. The most accurate heavy pellet is the H&N Hollow Points. The Gamo
Pro Magnum @ 21.91 Are o.k on accuracy. The Eun Jin @ 35.80 Will not fit in the Gun ( The Eun Jin .22 @ 28.40 fit in
my .22 Caliber Talon Magnum and shoot Accurate and Strong ). I have yet to try what I think will be a great pellet and
that would be the JSB Exact Kings @ 25.40 Grain or the New Benjamin .25 @ 27.80 Grain. The Predator Big Boys @ 30.85
Grain are all over the place and also fit a bit tight. Also at break in I ran 200 Barracudas through the Rifle with open sights.
Then mounted the scope and I have had no problems with the scope at all. She likes a light but firm Deer Rifle hold with the
butt of the stock planted and motionless for any kind of consistency in accuracy. I am still learning and  Positive or negative input to help is always welcome.

Those Falcon's are rough. A while back I went out shooting w/ a friend who had purchased a .22 Falcon gas ram from PA, I brought along my 350M. The Falcon even w/ the gas ram was still a beast. The cocking effort and shot cycle weren't pretty and the kicker was  it only shot a little faster then my 350M.

I'm sure a tune will help calm things down.

Good luck

The Eun Jin @ 35.80 Gr Will fit in my .25 Falcon. The pellet goes in 1/2 way and then a light snap when I push with
my thumb again. I forgot with the 3 rings on the pellet for less air leakage it needs that second push in. I was testing
and it is just like the Eun Jins in my .22 , Very solid on knock down and better accuracy than a Baracuda/Kodiak
@ 31.02 Gr. I just could not accept that they worked so well in my guns in .22 Caliber that the .25 did not fit.So
after re-evaluating the 35.80 Gr Eun Jin I correct what I wrote prior on the pellet. They work awesome just like
there pellets in .22 Caliber. If you have a strong Springer or PCP give them a try you will like the accuracy and
stopping power the pellet has to offer.

Title: Mainspring size?
Post by: Davee1 on September 21, 2010, 10:46:12 PM
Ranedouglas, do you happen to have the specs on a WFH mainspring handy?
Wirediameter, number of coils, ID and/or OD?
