Does anyone know if a sling mount from a trail will fit in a nitro venom? I know that a trail has a 8mm space for the cocking arm and sling mount. And I've also read about the knurled pin and was wondering what could happen if I take it out. Plus what do you guys think would be the best way to remove it?

The pin part numbers are same for Venom and Trail so should work if Venom gap is wide enough...if not, have to remove some metal from that breechblock.

Thanks for the reply!
So you think I should order a pin aswell?

Hi
I have a sling that has loops on each end.
One goes around the barrel and the other goes around the stock at the wrist.
I am not sure about attaching the sling part at the hinge.
The slot would require widening, maybe too much.
.632 The Titan GP hinge measures
.703 The Trail NP XL with sling measures thick at the hinge.
So as you see the hinge is thicker and that makes up for the metal removed for the sling.
You might be able to attach a sling mount on the outside by replacing the rivet with a small bolt. self locking nut would keep it all together. The stock would need opening to clear.

I have an "Uncle Mike's" barrel band on every one of my ARs and it works perfectly. Mounted about 2 inches out from the stock, it doesn't apply any undue stress to the rifle and it is fast and easy to mount and compared with any alternatives I've explored, cheap. These mounts are made in sizes that fit almost all of the magnum and non-magnum ARs. I have 3 of these on NVs and they work really well. Here is a pic I have of one on my Blackhawk:

Thanks pappa I asked about that sling a while ago and you said you modded it heavily... so I'm on the fence a little about which way to go about putting a sling on it. I'd really like to put the sling mount on it from the trail or even attach a stud to the side of the stock but I just want to know the best way to do it.... and maybe itlf the breech block wont have enough space the fit the sling mount would maybe filing the block and the mount be ok? Or would that do horrible damage to the guns function?
-
All I did to the sling was make it more adjustable. The sling, itself, should have nothing to do with the way it's mounted. My only point is that this is the sturdiest, easiest and cheapest way that I ( and a lot of others) have found to mount a sling to the front of a break barrel AR. I can't help but feel that you might be over-complicating the matter.

Not over complicating it but analyzing in every way possible. I like options. You have your way and I have mine.

I understand and apologize for being over presumptuous. I truly hope this works out well for you.

Dave,
Marlin .357 Magnum 1894C Carbine, .540-.590", Part # 1051-2
http://www.unclemikes.com/products/marlin357magnum1894c_carbine.html (http://www.unclemikes.com/products/marlin357magnum1894c_carbine.html)
This fits all known Nitro Venoms since I am using it on both of mine in .177 and .22 Cal.
This is the one on the Blackhawk in the picture. Although the Blackhawk barrel measures .595", the band still fits it perfectly.

Pappa,
Excellent . . .
Are you having any issues with it wanting to slip and rotate around the barrel under pressure ?

Dave,
Absolutely not. I have had ZERO problems with these mounts on 6 rifles from Ruger, Crosman and RWS.
