Title: HW97K Question
Post by: dwood5 on December 08, 2011, 10:54:19 PM
Just received my new HW97K.

I also have an RWS48 and the anti-beartrap mechanism on it is obvious: a ratchet.

I don't detect anything on the HW97K. Is there one? If so, how does it work?

Yes there is one. It is under the stock. It only can be seen with stock removed. All it really does is block the trigger when the lever is out.

Yup, it's a more of a trigger block, not a true anti-beartrap, keep your hand on the underlever while you load as the ultimate backup procedure. My 97 is 10 years old and has never bit me but.. mechanical stuff fails.

Easily removed so you can de-cock it.
